No mention of 'American Sniper' from President Obama

A week following the death of former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, President Barack Obama has yet to publicly acknowledge the service of the legendary marksman or his friend, fellow veteran Chad Littlefield.

As TheBlaze's own Buck Sexton pointed out Monday:

As thousands gathered Tuesday for Kyle's public memorial service in Dallas, TX, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin called on the president to offer his own condolences:

Todd and I are in Dallas today to attend Chris Kyle’s memorial and funeral service. I find it sad to see that flags aren’t flying at half staff for this American hero. We’re surrounded today by American patriots here in Texas – by Chris’ fellow veterans and active duty warriors. In honor of them, I hope our commander in chief pays his respects in some gesture of condolence for their comrade in arms who sacrificed so much to keep him and all of us safe.

In addition, public petitions posted on the White House's own WeThePeople site call on the U.S. government to name a Navy vessel in Kyle's honor and for the president to call for flags to be flown at half mast.

Kyle will be buried today in Austin after a motorcade of about 200 vehicles lead the white hearse carrying his flag-draped coffin makes the 200-mile journey from Kyle's hometown of Midlothian, TX, to the Texas State Cemetery.
