GOP congressman: LBJ is 'rotting in hell

Geez, congressman. Why don't you tell us how you really feel?

"Congress will not hold anyone to blame. Lyndon Johnson's probably rotting in hell right now because of the Vietnam War, and he probably needs to move over for Dick Cheney," Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) said at a conference in his home state, according to the Huffington Post.

Jones, a libertarian, has been an outspoken critic of the Iraq war in recent years. He was speaking at a meeting of the Young Americans for Liberty, an offshoot of former Rep. Ron Paul's (R-Texas) presidential campaign.

"I want to give credit to the man who helped me understand if you're ever going to send young men and women to die, it needs to be with the Constitution and debated by the Congress," Jones reportedly said during his keynote address.  Jones supported the Iraq War when Congress voted in 2003, but now blames his vote on "misinformation" from the Bush administration.

Rep. Jones was also one of the biggest supporters of changing the name of french fries and french toast to "freedom fries" and "freedom toast" in all House cafeterias -- a protest of France's refusal to support the Iraq War.

"I knew that those who do not fight like myself, it's easy to be macho man, and declare war, get that son of a bitch..." Jones said Saturday.  "I am so fed up with people who do not understand the pain of war."
