Iran Broadcasts How It Might Handle an Israeli Attack on Its Nuclear Facilities
November 08, 2013
Simulated missile attack.
Iranian state television has aired video of a simulated missile attack on Israel meant to demonstrate what might happen if Israel were to attack Iran's nuclear facilities, Israeli outlet Ynet news reported.
The simulated attack was part of an hour-long documentary that featured segments on Iran's missile capabilities and how they might be used in response to foreign threats, Ynet reported.
Tensions between the two nations are far from simulated, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Friday that he “utterly rejects” the emerging nuclear agreement between Western powers and Iran, calling it a “bad deal” and promising that Israel will do everything it needs to do to defend itself.
The computer-animated launches of Iran's long-range Sejjil ballistic missiles were accompanied by rousing music and depicted Israel's air-defense systems intercepting a few missiles — but others getting through and destroying their targets, Ynet reported.
Among the bombed Israeli areas were the Azrieli Towers and the Kirya in Tel Aviv, the Israel Defense Forces base Tzfirin in central Israel, Ben Gurion Airport and the nuclear reactor at Dimona, YNET reported.
