Jesse Ventura Interview Is About as Wild As You'd Expect: 'The Drones Can't Find Me!

Ventura, who is considering a long-shot independent run for the White House, said he would immediately clear the intelligence leakers Chelsea Manning and Edward Snowden if elected. Ventura, who served as governor of Minnesota from 1999 to 2003 and is an avid proponent of conspiracy theories, said it was 'wonderful' for individuals within government to expose abuses. Ventura's book 'They Killed Our President,' alleges that the 1963 Kennedy assassination was a conspiracy in reaction to his efforts to reduce war. AFP/Getty Images

Jesse Ventura Interview Is About as Wild As You'd Expect: 'The Drones Can't Find Me!

"I’m off the grid."

Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura said Tuesday he has gone “off the grid” in Mexico so as to avoid the “drones.”

“I’m off the grid. I move about with my TV show so that the drones can’t find me and you won’t know exactly where I am,” Ventura said during a TV interview on CNBC’s “Closing Bell," ignoring questions about whether it's all a "hoax."

The former professional wrestler said he currently resides in an “undisclosed location in Mexico.”

Ventura, who hosts a survival show on Ora TV called “Off the Grid,” said that so “long as we have solar power and we can reach the satellite,” avoiding civilization is doable.

“I view the United States, today, much like East Berlin. And I’m off the grid. I’ve tried for 20 years to warn the country about the Democrats and Republicans, and nobody’s listening," he said.

He said that after years of being on “the inside, looking out,” he now sees the United States “from the outside looking in.”

“I now view the United States from the outside, and I don’t like what I see,” Ventura said. “You know what the favorite T-shirt was off the grid down here a couple years ago? A picture of [former President] George Bush, and it said weapon of mass destruction. Is that the way we want the United States portrayed throughout the world? I don’t think so.”

Ventura ignored questions about how he remains “off the grid” with Internet access.

“I’m solving problems. … I’m a job creator,” the former governor said later in the interview. “And I’m not only creating jobs, putting Mexicans to work, I’m stopping them from running across the border now and taking our jobs, because my whole staff said that if I wasn’t down here, and I didn’t have them, they’d be coming up to America, looking for jobs.”

Ventura is currently involved in a defamation lawsuit against the widow of Chris Kyle, the former Navy SEAL who was shot and killed at a Texas gun range last year.
