Cruz: Trump 'Doesn't Scare' My Wife

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz slammed fellow GOP candidate Donald Trump Wednesday for the billionaire's now-infamous tweet about about the Texas senator's wife, saying Heidi Cruz would not be intimidated by the GOP front-runner.

Speaking in New York City at the Women's Republican Club, Cruz said, "She is used to dealing with bullies," citing her business background. "Donald Trump doesn't scare Heidi remotely."

"When he bellows and attacks her, she is used to dealing with people who are full of hot air ... so it doesn't bother her in the slightest," he continued.

Cruz went on to say that the attack "said a lot" about Trump's character.

A reporter later asked if bringing Heidi Cruz into the conversation was out-of-bounds, given the fact she has campaigned for him, sometimes on her own, across the country.

"We shouldn't attack each other's wives," Cruz answered. "We shouldn't attack each other's children and that's gutter politics."

The tussle between the two leading Republican candidates began on Tuesday when Trump suggested he might reveal something embarrassing about Heidi Cruz.

Cruz responded calling Trump "more of a coward than I thought."
