I just found my wife’s engagement/wedding ring over the weekend. She lost it about a year and a half ago, and we looked all over the house for it when it happened. We spent days looking in everything from the cabinets to the p-traps of all the drains in the house to no avail.
Then she bought a cheap silver ring just so she could have something on her finger, and on our anniversary a few months later I bought her a new diamond ring.
We moved a few months after that, and I searched every square inch of the place as we were moving making sure that we hadn’t missed it hiding under the baseboards where the carpet meets the wall or anywhere else.
About a month ago I had a friend help me move a new couch into our place to replace an old one that was starting to rip. I left the old couch in the house thinking I would offer it up on Craigslist for someone that might want to put a slip cover on it and get some more life out of it. Well, the kids destroyed it even more while it sat out of the way, so I decided to take it apart and throw it away. I spent a few hours breaking it down so it would fit in the trash and there in the bottom of the couch sitting on the bottom dust cover was her ring.
We had moved the couch from one house to another on an open trailer, and I had almost thrown the couch away a month ago! Needless to say, she was extremely excited to have finally found it.

@Monk
We have had that since we added the ability for users to see all of their previous comments. When we rebuilt the “Recent Activity” section for users we used the same design for the staff section.

@East
We fight that battle every day. We are constantly reporting ads and videos that auto-play trying to get them taken down as quickly as possible. Some videos and video players are just built to auto-play and there isn’t a whole lot that can be done in those cases.

Hey Monk,
Yeah I thought that was pretty good too.
We had someone working on system settings earlier that shut down our system for a short time, which caused the vote tally system to quit working. I just noticed about 45 minutes ago that the vote totals weren’t updating, but we were capturing the votes during that time. The system is back up and running now, and I am seeing vote counts being updated and displayed again. All of the vote counts should be updated soon.

We were checking to see if you guys pay attention! ;-)
Really, it was just a misplaced tag in the story, so it should be back to normal now.
Thanks for keeping us on our toes!

@The-Monk
We updated the commenting system this morning for better performance and ended up introducing a bug that did not allow third level comments to show up on the site. We have fixed the issue at this point, and we are seeing third level comments again. Sorry about the inconvenience.
