With minimal fanfare, former Speaker Newt Gingrich announced his intention to run for president in 2012 with a simple message on Twitter Wednesday:

Gingrich will be on Fox News tonight with Sean Hannity (9pm ET/8pm CT) to discuss his decision to run for president.
