Media Anti-Semitic ‘Lotion Man’ owns the Wall Street protests

As Jon noted last night, a man trolling around the “Occupy Wall Street” protests calling himself the “Lotion Man” (yuck) is making quite a name for himself on YouTube. His obscene diatribes and deviant behavior have caught the attention of camera-wielding New Yorkers, including NRO’s Charles Cooke who caught him berating an older Jewish man who challenged the protesters.
Gawker’s Adrian Chen now worries that the crazy “Lotion Man” will become a figurehead of sorts for the anti-capitalist protest marches and that conservatives will use his image to show what a bunch of nut-job loons the protesters are:
Chen sarcastically writes:
Did you know that the real reason Occupy Wall Street protesters hate banks is that they’re anti-Semitic loons? Yep, just look at this video of a completely representative Wall Street protester that the National Review discovered down in Manhattan’s Zuccotti Park. …
His name is Danny Cline and he is either insane or a horrible conceptual comedian—maybe an insane, horrible conceptual comedian? Hard to tell…
But never mind that! Lotion Man is the real face of Occupy Wall Street! If the protesters have their way, they will pass new laws that require all your daughters to marry Lotion Man. Having completely ignored this articulate protester, Fox News will soon put up Lotion Man as Occupy Wall Street’s representative in a debate with Charles Krauthammer. That would actually be awesome.
Don’t you just hate it when your political opponents pick one or two bad apples out of the bunch and use them to paint an entire movement in a negative light? That must be super annoying…

Posted on October 6, 2011 at 12:59amWhen someone can cite one, ONE similarly unopposed, deplorable incident at a Tea Party rally, or somebody spouting anti-Semitic rhetoric like the Wall St. protester saying “The Jews control Wall Street, F- the Jews, F- Israel” in this video — http://youtu.be/qlKiATQIR_4 (and I don’t mean the infiltrating far-left LaRouchies with their Hitler signs) — THEN I will concede that it may be hypocritical to criticize and belittle these protesters.
I think most Jews would agree that yelling, “You’re a bum, Jew!“ and ”You can’t even speak English or Israeli? Go back to Israel” is pretty darn anti-Semitic. In any case, it is repulsive.
But any apologist for the blatantly oppressive, genocidal policies of radical Islamists deserves even more contempt, and I wouldn’t think ill of anyone who suggested they emigrate to a country where their views are shared by the majority.
Deliberately taking benign statements out of context, inciting class envy, unwarranted accusations of racism, homophobia, intolerance, (Christian) religious zealotry, greed, etc., THOSE are the tactics exclusive to one side.
YES, they have a right to speak, but HECK YEAH, I have a right to mock them and their companions for what they support or condone.
I will continue to expose and ridicule the ridiculous, in order to better illustrate sensibility. That is NOT a progressive tactic; there was nothing wrong with it when Reagan did it, and there is not now, when those like Glenn Beck or Mered

We don’t need lotion man to show what a bunch of nutjobs the protesters are. AND They ARE going to become (if not already) the face of the Democrat party. This is not an American Fall its a Democrat fall.

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 9:39amThis is bad taste for the Blaze to first label this man as anti-semitic and then use this guy as an example of all the protesters. I’m actually unsure what he said that was anti-Semitic. Is it because he said go home to Israel? Or is it because he was simply arguing with a Jewish man? Many Blaze posters post Muslims should go home to the ME and fewer say the same with black Americans. None I agree with of course.
Using the same tactics as were used against the TEA party only means we have sunk to their low level of dignity and false truths. It simply means we are just as bad as those we complained about.
I do not support these protests or this man who clearly demonstrates instability but to belittle them and mock them is quite saddening.

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 9:50amYou can’t win the argument when you let the opponent always control the narrative.
By giving Lotion Man a pass and not calling him out on his BS, you continue to let the Progressives control the narrative.

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 10:31amTruth wins the argument every time and will drive the narrative if we stand in it.
Giving Lotion Man a pass on what, arguing with a Jewish man over his protesting? After seeing the man speak it’s clear he has problems. Is that a pass? No, but I don’t know what he needs a pass for? Can he not argue with a Jewish man in disagreement without being labelled anti-Semitic? Are we using the same narrative as the progressives used on the TEA party that the TEA party disagrees with bad BO Zero because we are racist?
Using the progressive narrative of “racist” isn’t controlling anything. It is simply being like progressives…………..

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 8:20pmIf there were a similar disturbed rant from an individual at ANY Tea Party gathering, I would expect at least a censure from many in the group who were within earshot. Nothing of the sort in the first video posted in a previous Blaze article, hardly a peep in the others.
Fortunately, there are many in this forum who call out similar behavior.
Can you judge what a group stands for by what they obviously condone? I say yes. Therefore, may “Lotion Man,” the head of SEIU, or any given protester there be used as a poster child for the Wall Street occupation.
Apart from that, any apologies or recompense forthcoming for vandalism, filth, shutting down transportation and hurting local SMALL businesses? Any apologies from ANYONE for Hoffa’s “Let’s take these (Tea Party) SOBs out” warm-up speech for Obama?
The silence from the White House speaks volumes.
About the worst that the left can come up with against the Tea Party is footage of a few folks in 18th century garb — yet they are painted as inherently, unequivocally racist, because… well, because we say so.
And, by all means available, we must be protected from the hateful rhetoric of such influential political figures as (gasp) Hank Williams, Jr!

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 9:37pmThe TEA party was ridiculed, mocked, and belittled, why? Because those who did not agree with the rhetoric of the TEA party were using progressive tactics to silence and intimidate the TEA Party.
It is our responsibility to listen to these protesters rhetoric and stand for their right to speak, especially, if we do not agree with what they say. If we resort to or begin mimicking Progressive tactics we lose for we become progressive.
I do not agree with anything these people say, but I can not support treating them how Progressives treated the TEA party. That would be hypocritical of me and anyone from the TEA party doing so. Honor….
As for “take these SOB’s out” remarks, again, hold ourselves accountable for our remarks before pointing fingers at others. Our people have said similar remarks so until we stop, why should we be upset anyone is saying similar remarks.
And I do not believe there was any real anti-Semitic remarks. Go home to Israel is anti-Semitic, come on, get real…..
It’s sad when both sides are using the same progressive tactics.
