Politics Video: Chris Christie compares OWS to tea party

I can understand that both movements are disillusioned with the government, but how can you compare the two? One wants to “fundamentally transform” this country while the other just wants to restore its promise.

The title on Christie’s YouTube video reads: “I understand why they are frustrated.”

What do you think? Is this a fair comparison?

Philip Klein writes that Christie has it all wrong, arguing that the two movements offer vastly different solutions because come from different — nearly opposite — philosophical perspectives:

There might be superficial overlap between the two groups. For instance, you may find signs at either rally opposing the Wall Street bailout. But the Wall Street protesters who oppose the bailout do so because they think the government should have bailed out other Americans, such as homeowners, instead. Tea Partiers are opposed to the whole idea of using taxpayer money to reward people for their reckless behavior, regardless of their wealth.

To suggest that the two groups have the same perspectives is to say that conservatives and libertarians who supported market-based health care and liberals who advocated a fully socialized health care system came from the “same perspective” when they both opposed Obamacare.

    About as similar as steak in a dumpster (OWS) and steak on a plate (TEA). Sorry for the food analogy. Every time I see Christie I start thinking about eating.

    I`ve not heard any explanation as to why opposing financial crime is more important than ALLOWING A DISCUSSION about the genocide of my race:

    Africa for the Africans,Asia for the Asians,white countries for EVERYBODY!

    Everybody says there is this RACE problem. Everybody says this RACE problem will be solved when the third world pours into EVERY white country and ONLY into white countries.

    The Netherlands and Belgium are just as crowded as Japan or Taiwan, but nobody says Japan or Taiwan will solve this RACE problem by bringing in millions of third worlders and quote assimilating unquote with them.

    Everybody says the final solution to this RACE problem is for EVERY white country and ONLY white countries to “assimilate,” i.e., intermarry, with all those non-whites.

    What if I said there was this RACE problem and this RACE problem would be solved only if hundreds of millions of non-blacks were brought into EVERY black country and ONLY into black countries?

    How long would it take anyone to realize I’m not talking about a RACE problem. I am talking about the final solution to the BLACK problem?

    And how long would it take any sane black man to notice this and what kind of psycho black man wouldn’t object to this?

    But if I tell that obvious truth about the ongoing program of genocide against my race, the white race, Liberals and respectable conservatives alike say I am a naziwhowantstokillsixmillionjews.

    The main difference between the Tea Party and OWS is VERY simple…
    The Tea Party believes that all men are CREATED equal.
    OWS (and others of their ilk) believe that all men should have equal OUTCOMES.

    Actually, TEA and OWS both want to transform the country, just different directions. We aren’t a capitalist society; SS, Medicare, Medicaid, plus banks fail in a capitalist society. We became Semi-Socialist under FDR. 

    TEA wants to transform from the semi-Socialist country we are now back to a Capitalist Democratic Republic we began as. 

    OWS wants to further the transformation from the semi-Socialist country to full blown Socialist/Marxist country.
