Business Car dealership cashes in on Occupy Boston

Oh, the irony.

I’m not sure what I like most about this commercial.

Is it the fact that the dealership looks to increase its profits by poking fun at a movement whose members have called for the death of capitalism?

Or is it the impression (0:08 mark) that lampoons the well-documented hostility of the occupiers towards members of the media?

Personally? I love the the fact that the car dealership is using a movement which, I think, is anti-capitalism (among several other things . . . I’m not really sure what they are protesting against).

That really is the best thing about this commercial. It uses the imagery and platitudes of the Occupy movement to generate profit from the same economic system the protesters want abolished.

You know who else wanted to abolish capitalism but has had his image used to generate profits from clueless college students who want to look like edgy social revolutionaries?

Yeah, this guy. The same guy who said:

. . . how terrible these capitalist octopuses are. I have sworn before a picture of the old and mourned comrade Stalin that I won’t rest until I see these capitalist octopuses annihilated.

Hey! University kid who wants to “honor” Che’s memory with your Hot Topic fashion sense!

You know that‘s the same thing as eating a whole case of White Castle sliders to honor Gandhi’s memory, right?* Just letting you know.

Oh, the irony. The sweet, wonderful irony.

*Not that I would ever do that. I like Gandhi and hate sliders.

    Brilliant ad. Deserves an award. Making fun of idiots may not be politically correct but it’s sure a catchy commercial.

    I hate this ad. Not because I favor the occu-poopers, either. No—–I find these type of ads irritating. Not about to buy from this dealership anyway.

    If we are spared another term of the Obama administration after the 2012 election, and a republican is elected president, I would expect to see all these radicals, socialists, marxists, anarchists, and misfits of the fringe left, participating in the OWS protests, to suddenly turn their misguided vitriol toward our government and newly elected leader. I’ve been a witness to this behavior for years. When the president is a democrat, they (the protesters) mostly focus their whining on big business, and when a republican is in the White House, they switch to bashing the government.

    Look for big, obnoxious protests to spring up in 2013, in front of the White House and in DC in general if we’re lucky enough to unseat the current, leadership-challenged president next year.

    thats a picture of a serial killer-want to see what else is going to happen if we dont wake up-its all spelled out in Wikipidia-under FDR-1-trying to pack the Supreme Court by adding to it(Congress stopped him)-2-trying to have corp. and individuals taxed 91% if they made more than $25,000.00(todays $337,000.00) Congress stopped him. 3-1932-1934-forced sale of gold-(except coins)there is a lot more-including his VPHenry A Wallace-ran under the “progressive party”-did a mea culpa-at the end of his life-that he was a dupe for Stalin-Thank God when FDR died it was Truman that was his VP. These repulsive children better be carefull what they ask for-they just might gwet it(over my dead body)

    The “Occupy Wall Street” type demonstrations against Capitalism should be held in the cemetery!

    Capitalism contracted a fatal disease (Congress created the ICC, Interstate Commerce Commission) in 1888. It remained on its death bed until the mid-1930’s when it passed away without fanfare. While on the death bed, Capitalism was slowly replaced by Cronyism. Once, the transition was complete and Capitalism passed away.

    The death of capitalism was never acknowledged and the Wannabe Tyrants continued to blame the corpse for the economic failures of Cronyism. Of course, Cronyism is simply the transition between Capitalism and Tyranny. Still don’t understand? Read the book “21st Century Common Sense”.
