McCain ‘proud’ of Meghan on MSNBC, Lieberman’s waiting on Herman

John McCain and Joe Lieberman accepted American Patriot Awards
Meghan McCain
became an official MSNBC contributor this week and it left a lot of conservatives (even some on the left) a little teed off. But not her dad. “I’m very happy for her. I hope she does well,” Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) told THE BLAZE in Washington, D.C, Thursday night where he and Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) were accepting American Patriot Awards.

Response from the right on Twitter was less than favorable to the news that McCain would be on the news — regularly. “Whatever John McCain’s sins, he does not deserve a daughter like [Meghan],” Editor in Chief of the Daily Caller Tucker Carlson tweeted Wednesday (he later apologized when Meghan called him out on it).

“MSNBC hired Meghan McCain, lowering the network IQ and raising that of their competitors,” tweeted Mark Hemingway, online editor of The Weekly Standard.

But dad doesn’t care. “I think whatever is best for her life and career. And I’m very proud that she’s doing so well,” he said.

We also caught up with Sen. Lieberman at the event and asked if he had any thoughts on Herman Cain and the sometimes confusing foreign policy positions he articulated this week. He said he wasn’t familiar and chose to talk about the harassment allegations instead. I’m happy he did.

“Certain people are jumping either way. Some to condemn him, some to say it couldn’t have happened. We don’t know. I think, ultimately, he should bring out the facts,” Lieberman said.

By the way, when Lieberman entered the building, he started to walk down the hall toward the reception but was pulled back by security to go through the metal detector…

Herman Cain made a great speech at the Americans for Prosperity Convention on Friday: http://www.thedailycandidate.com/video/2011/nov/cain_afp_event.html .

He’s a Koch ‘Brother from another Mother’ as he said.

Well – at least we won’t have her running as a Republican! Jsut goes to show that America is the land of opportunity – for even the “mentally challenged” can get a job!

The bottom line os she may have a “different’ twist even on what her father may have to say or stand politically..but her father is and remains a big government progressive who is NOT to be trusted…and in closing here for all of America to see: “The Price of Apathy towards Public Affairs is to be ruled by evil men”—-Plato..how true those words are especially today..

I don’t know of any “patriots” that call their fellow men “Hobbits” (unless of course dressed as a Hobbit for Halloween).
