Politics Romney’s fabric fear

Mitt Romneys Mormon faith and polyester

As a leader of his church in Boston, Mitt Romney ran into a few troubles. One of them was a type of cloth, according to Nancy Dreg, a member of the church.

From the Washington Post:

[O]n a more interpersonal level, Romney had a harder time connecting. During one meeting with the church’s women’s relief society, he encouraged the wives of his peers to look after less fortunate families in the congregation, but advised that the culture shock might be difficult for them. “ ‘Sometimes, people are wearing polyester in Medford,’ ” Dredge recalled Romney as saying. “I thought, ‘Oh my God.’ ”

The way the article describes church doctrine, interactions etc. really rides the line. The author is either very ignorant of how the church works and views things or they are trying to put the most negative spin they can on things without out right lying.

To my knowledge, The persons religious beliefs were not questioned by very many when America had her first Governmental system. beginning with the first man that many if not all know as First President, George Washington. with the rest of the known founders of Americas Constitution and Bill of Rights Including so many Amendments added, possibly changed since. The founders agreed on one thing. the Need for Guidence from the Word Of The Holy Scriptures. They had brought with them. There were no Disputes about The Writings to help them in their decision making. at that time. Seems that a persons Belief in The Creator Named. in The “Bill Of Rights” since the election of someone of the Roman, Italion “Rome Italy”, Vatican City “Catholic Church belief, known and called and Voted into the office of the Commander In Chief “John F. Kennedy” the first man, that I am aware of, his religious belief and faith came into question. I believe President Nixon was also given thought to because he I believe was of “The Quaker” faith. I could be wrong. Check that out. As for questioning the Faith of anyone’s Religious beliefs, why a belief of a people called “Mormons”
“Church Of The Latter Day Saints” ? Have a Choir of singers well known throughout the world, The Mormon Tabernacale Choir, Many of this Faith are very active people haveing been trained in the Arts, Music, Theater, Opera, Dance, One of the Oldest Faiths in The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit Of This Land Called Amer

Ok… I’m Mormon and am having a hard time embracing Romney or Huntsman as candidates, but that said, as a life long member of the LDS church, the context and nature of this story about the relief society meeting and Romney’s supposed comments sound either concoted or seriously taken out of context (and in either case, done to make Romney look bad). Other Mormons would agree that even small things like the final line of the story (i.e. “I thought, ‘Oh my God.’”) is a decent indicator that the person recounting this story is not likely that intimately involved with in the LDS faith.

I agree, the fact that she bailed shortly after tells me she never did get it. Oh no, a paster/bishop advises his flock, gives people assignments (callings). This is just horrible, you should not a person preside over anything, everyone for themselves, do what you want, parrrrttyyy…

Hit job, but one ignorant folks will lap up like a thirsty dog

If you read the story the woman is quoted as saying “Oh my” in section 3. So is this the Blaze folks misquoting? Because while society might use the Lords name in this way I don’t know active Mormons that do.

To Matt Marshall , I neither Really understood the “Oh My God” Comment Accept to say . Does not sound like a remark from a Morman to me. I am not a Mormon either.1st of all so many consider them a cult Well apparently a Cult would not believe in a Gospel that Also refers to the Old Books instead of forgetting they existed also. Meaning they have and Do believe in the Holy Scriptures, Including and Not Excluding THE CROSS, The Gospel Of of The Savior’s, Life, Death, Buriel, Resurrected Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son. Of the LORD CREATOR GOD, Father, Son, And Holy Spirit.
To MACHARLAN; As for the Washington Post Article, One persons opinion of What? Something about Clothing being worn by A Morman? or was it more about having something to say about woman‘s right’s Getting the Right To Vote. Lead by Margrate Sanger, And to this day not a bad thing Yet has also lead to the Feminist Movement that then made Aborting a child Legal, same sex marriage acceptable. When both. are not in agreement with the “LORD CREATOR GOD” has not Ordained as good and right to do. Marriage was to be between One Man & One Woman.both pointed out in the Old, City Burned and the Gospel 1st Ch. Romans, and Corinthians “Marriage Not To be Denied” RCC DO. Abortion ON DEMAND death of an innocent unborn child The LORD Called Murder. Not So? why was so many pregnancies hidden by Parents, that knew about Blood on their Skirts, Isaiah? The Law given in Leviticus As to death of a child in the womb

To MACHARLAN; As to the process of Elections, To bad they have disintergrated into ruining ones reputation for so many years, I also find it really odd how in “This Republic for which it stands.”
Stands not for the RIGHT and GOOD to DO is So fulfilling the WORD, we have to this day. by having turning the evil into something good, and the right to do into something evil. Same sex Sodomite Marriages, and parents actually opting to bring death by choice to their unborn and children. That our LORD has Called Blessed. and his Word “Arrows” America is a Republic and Republicans for the most part do not agree with Abortions On Demand never would, Even though man has Legalized Sodomy “same sex marriages” God has not, this is still called what mankind hid from even parents and was considered shamefull acts between two men or two woman. Both moral choices have brought death to many, The unborn and the child dependant on love from the parents, not given the choice of love, or life. The sexual acts are now bringing destruction to young boys and young girls because of depraved minds HIS Word of adult abusing young boys buying and selling and having clubs for such acts.

I don’t get it. What is this about? Can we stop picking on Romney for his clothes? he’s earned his money, he can wear what he wants. He’s not wearing $5000 bracelets to charity events. He’s on the campaign trail. This is ridiculous.
