Entertainment Are your ratings that bad? Ed Schultz and ‘sewer rats’

As written about elsewhere on The Blaze, MSNBC personality Ed Schultz wrapped up his poorly-rated TV program “The Ed Show” Thursday night by declaring victory over the Tea Party.

“Good to have you with us tonight, folks. Thanks for watching. The Tea Party’s mission to destroy this presidency and the economy–well, it`s failed for now…Tonight, they are the losers and the winners are the American people,” Shultz said in reference to the GOP leadership caving in during the battle over extending the payroll-tax cuts.

However, before declaring victory for the American people on his television show, Shultz predicted on his radio program that GOP leadership would settle for nothing less than a stalemate with Democrats.

Why would anyone want a stalemate? Because, according to Schultz, Tea Party Republicans are like “sewer rats.”

Shultz in his own words (via News Busters):

What these tea partiers are going to do right now, and I’m going to label them tonight as sewer rats. They have a sewer rat mentality. You know what sewer rats do? They go down in the hole and they don’t come out. And they all hang out together. And they’re comfortable in their environment. And that’s what these Tea Partiers are doing right now behind closed doors. They’re just sewer rats.

Listen to him explain why “sewer rats” seems like an appropriate description for the Tea Party:

However, he goes on to say much more that’s not included in the video:

And when they leave Washington from being a sewer rat, they’re gonna go home and they’re gonna have that human interaction with people and they’re gonna feel power.

They’re going to talk with about three people that think the way they do, and say [in a nose-holding voice] ‘Well, that’s the way it is! We’re doing the right thing, and we’re going to beat this socialist/Marxist/communist pinko in the White House!

I’ll say no to government spending. I don’t give a damn about the unemployed! In fact, I went home and didn’t see one person that was unemployed.’ That’s how they think.

And perhaps because he was feeling a little cocksure from the brilliance of his political analysis, Schultz continued his verbal victory lap. He went on to reveal the results of a poll of his audience. Apparently, ninety-eight percent of the respondents believe House Speaker John Boehner is “the most ineffective Speaker in recent memory.”

Wait, what? Ed Schultz’ audience thinks speaker is no good? Shocker.

Now there’s nothing wrong with comparing a political movement to sewer rats. Depending on the how a certain group conducts itself, it could be a perfect analogy. As Schultz mentioned, rats climb into their holes, they stay together in their own groups, and they’re comfortable in their environments–common elements of a political movement corrupted by groupthink.

However, Schultz forgot to mention two major characteristics of sewer rats: they spread filth and disease wherever they go and they’re a pain in the neck to get rid of.

Therefore, if we take the three aforementioned descriptions of sewer rats that Shultz provides, and add “spreading filth” and “oain in the neck” to that list, we–wait. It doesn’t really sound much like the Tea Party at all.

It sounds an awful lot like another group.

Are your ratings that bad? Ed Schultz and sewer rats Tea Party rallies from across the country.

Are your ratings that bad? Ed Schultz and sewer rats

“Comfortable in their environment”? Check. Going “down in the hole”? Check. Spreading filth? Check.  All “hanging out together”? Check. “Pain in the neck to get rid of”? Check.

I wonder how he would describe the occupy protesters O WAIT HE JUST DID!. there are ways to say what he said and not look like a hypocritical troglodyte, but they include things like PROOF. evidence that what your saying is true…it reinforces your point, promotes credibility…two thing eds viewers obviously do not require……and someone tell ed that spewing union talking points and representing the 12% (union/ total u.s. workforce) is NOT looking out for middle america. its pandering to your base. and being a steaming pile.

Someone explain to Ed Schultz, and remember to use small words, that the do-nothing Tea Party Republicans that control the House drafted, voted on, and PASSED a 12 month extension of the Payroll Tax Holiday, and the best the Focused on the middle-class Democrat controlled Senate could come up with was a two month extension.

Ed, 12 months is longer than 2 months, and the House Republicans did it without making new, federally insured mortgages more expensive…

I’m sure Ed will apologize when the above is made clear to him.

Apparently Ed Schultz (a relative of Sgt. Schultz from Hogan’s Heroes who also knew nothing?) is familiar with sewer rats on an intimate basis.Perhaps this is because I’ve heard through the grapevine that he is the product of genetic engineering involving the combination of rat DNA and e coli bacteria. I think the original intention of the engineering project was the development of low intelligence, but trainable porta-potty cleaners that would survive by eating the waste material, lessening the load on our water treatment facilities. Alas, he was deemed untrainable, released to the wilds where MSNBC captured him and put him on display.

Name calling is an empty weapon, employed when there is no real evidence to use against someone. Name calling is the last resort of all losers.

PS – Bet these pundits and opinion writers and their bosses get paid per nasty, flaming adjective/ paragraph about conservatives and per adoring, complimentary adjective/paragraph about Obama.

Psychologists know very well what Schultz is doing – he’s projecting – LIBERALS (LBGT, Democrats, atheists, etc.) talk in projection/opposites language.

Here’s what he really means: “Occupy Wall Streeters, social/political liberals and I (Ed Schultz) are sewer rats.”

They think, talk, live in an Alice In Wonderland, inside out, upside down, converse, mirror reality so what is true is the exact opposite of what they say. They accuse other people of what they are and feel. They look at the world with the lense of their own distorted perceptions and perversions.

      For example:
      - They hate the Tea Party and Republicans and call us names because we won’t go along with their irresponsible fiscal and social policies and demands. But most of Obama‘s cronies don’t pay their taxes or give a lot to charity. Statistics show that conservatives, Christians and Republicans obey laws, pay taxes, give more to charity than liberals and Democrats.
      - They want open borders, illegal immigrants and love and support the Occupiers – but start screaming when the aliens and occupiers take their jobs or squat in their churches and neighborhoods.
      - LBGT call conservative Christians haters when it is they who feel seething hatred because we won‘t play ’rainbow games’ and agree with them that their lifestyle is healthy, happy and holy and won’t change the definition of marriage to suit them. They deny the evidence in science or Scripture. They call us haters when we point out the truth, that their actions are risky and dangerous.
      - They demand to control or silence what we think, believe, say and do. They demand to change reality. They will use every childish, adolescent, violent or terrorist tactic to get what they want – even if it kills them or makes them sick.
