Want to let the president know what you think of his million dollar Hawaiian vacation? Now you canAs anyone who follows the Drudge Report, Hotair (or “Hot Gas” if you’re Gov. Rick Perry), or The Blaze knows, President Obama’s Hawaiian vacation will cost the American taxpayer quite a chunk of change.

Understandably, some Americans are bothered by the his decision to take such a costly vacation during these economically unstable times.

Perhaps because this irritation is so sharply felt, people are finding new and different ways to vent their frustration. One such outlet is a website called Wasted in Hawaii: President Obama’s Hawaiian Binge. The website includes information on the cost of president‘s trip as well as an interactive tool that allows users to send messages to the president’s @BarackObama Twitter handle.

“A leader is supposed to suffer with the people he serves, but Obama doesn’t seem to understand that principle. He could go to Camp David or his million-dollar home in Chicago, and show solidarity with the rest of us who made sacrifices,” writes Tyler Ament, the website’s creator, to The Blaze in an email.

Indeed. Maybe what‘s most annoying to Americans is the fact that the president takes these expensive vacations after he tells them they’ve “gotten lazy” and that they need to make a “shared sacrifice.”

Who’s the “we” in the “we’ve gotten lazy”?

Now, there’s nothing wrong with a little vacation. Some people deserve the time off. But perhaps it’s a little difficult for those who are unemployed, struggling to find work and/or have lost their homes to justify the price tag on the president’s “me time.”

And maybe websites like Wasted in Hawaii can serve as a type of political watchdog for these kind of junkets; a constant reminder of what this is costing us.

“[Most] Americans fail to understand how much money $4 million dollars really is, and therefore allow the President to get away with waste and hypocrisy,” Ament writes. “Just the other day, the Obama administration said that $40 is no small amount, yet the President is spending that amount every 15 seconds on his Hawaii trip [emphasis added].”

Exit question: Were there any other reasons—other than the hypocrisy—that prompted Ament to set up this website?

“I wanted to address these issues through humor. We can tend to get too negative and caught up in rhetoric, so I figured that a little fun could reach people’s hearts, and help them grasp just how wasteful and reckless our President is being,” writes Ament.

    After a tiresome work for the middle class, he demands a $4,000,000.00 Hawaiian vacation paid from the money loaned from China….to be paid by the middle class with interest??????

My husband is an E8 sargeant in military. new recruits that come in their mothers go& ask him what should they pack in their kiddie bag to take to army manuevers!     records, or provide the name of any former classmates
    or friends while at Columbia ..
    How can this be?
    NOTE: Wayne Allyn Root can easily be verified! He
    graduated valedictorian from his high school, Thornton-
    Donovan School , then graduated from Columbia University
    in 1983 as a Political Science major in the same ‘83 class
    in which Barack Hussein Obama states he was!
    Some other interesting questions.
    Why was Obama’s law license inactivated in 2002?
    Why was Michelle’s law license inactivated by court order?
    According to the U.S. Census, there is only one Barack
    Obama – but 27 Social Security numbers and over 80 aliases..
    WHAT!?
    The Social Security number he uses now originated in
    Connecticut where he is never reported to have lived.
    No wonder all his records are sealed!

    someone had to know him in school… before he “reorganized”

    a single class with him. Since he is such a great orator,

    all this is explainable – even though no one can?

    Looking for evidence of Obama’s past, Fox News contacted
    400 Columbia University students from the period when
    Obama claims to have been there, but not one remembers
    him. For example,Wayne Allyn Root was (like Obama) a
    political science major at Columbia , who graduated in 1983.
    In 2008, Root says of Obama, “I don’t know a single person
    at Columbia that knew him, and they all know me. I don’t
    have a single classmate who ever knew Barack Obama at
    Columbia … EVER!
    Nobody recalls him.

    pre-law” and says, “You don’t get more exact or closer

    we know… no classmates, not even the recorder for the
    Columbia class notes ever heard of him.
    Who was the best man at his wedding? Start there. Check
    for groomsmen. Then get the footage of the graduation ceremony.
    Has anyone talked to the professors? Isn’t it odd that no one is
    bragging that they knew him or taught him or lived with him.
    When did he meet Michele and how? Are there photos?
    Every president provides the public with all their photos,
    etc. for their library. What has he released? Nada – other
    than what was in this so-called biography! And experts
    who study writing styles etc. claim it was not O’s own
    words or typical of his speech patterns, etc.
    Does this make any of you wonder?
    Ever wonder why no one ever came forward from Obama’s
    past, saying they knew him, attended school with him, was
    his friend, etc? Not one person has ever come forward from his past.
    This should really be a cause for great concern. Did you see
    the movie titled, The Manchurian Candidate?
    Let’s face it. As insignificant as we all are… someone whom
    we went to school with remembers our name or face… someone
    remembers we were the clown or the dork or the brain or the
    quiet one or the bully or something about us.

    during the 2008 campaign. Even George questions why
    no one has acknowledged that the president was in their

    Where are the Obama Girlfriends?
    Surely he had at least one? No past girl friends popping up anywhere?
    Strange – strange to the point of being downright weird!
    OK, this is just plain old common sense, no political agendas for
    either side. Just common knowledge for citizens of a country,
    especially American citizens, who know every little tidbit about
    every other president (and their wives) that even know that
    Andrew Jackson’s wife smoked a corn cob pipe and was accused
    of adultery, or that Lincoln never went to school or Kennedy
    wore a back brace, or Truman played the piano.
    We are Americans! Our media vets these things out! We
    are known for our humanitarian interests and caring for our
    ‘fellow man.’ We care, but none of us know one single
    humanizing fact about the history of our own president.
    Honestly, and this is a personal thing… but it’s bugged me
    for years that no one who ever dated him ever showed up.
    Taken his charisma, which caused the women to be drawn
    to him so obviously during his campaign, looks like some
    lady would not have missed the opportunity. We all know about JFK’s magnetism, McCain was no monk,
    Palin’s courtship and even her athletic prowess were probed.
    Biden’s aneurisms are no secret. Look at Cheney and Clinton-
    we all know about their heart problems. How could I have
    left out Wild Bill before or during the White House?
    Nope… not one lady has stepped up and said, “He was so

    Does anybody know how often his family vacationed in Hawaii before he became president and could go on the taxpayer’s dime? I know he had a grandmother there, but taking 4 people on that sort of trip would be expensive, even if they were able to stay at the grandmother’s house instead of a resort.

    why are we surprised about how much this vacation is costing us- How about a new law that the PRES pays for his own vacations-we pay secret service and nothing else. How about doing whatBush did-waiting til after the holiday to go on vacation (and he only went to Texas to his home) so the secret service people could spend time with their families-say what you want about Bush ( I am no fan) but at least he was thinking of others-Obbummer the narcissist thinks only of himself and that is why we are in the shape we are in today

    I make a good living, though I am not RICH by any means…but, OBAMA has taken more vacations during his first three years in office than I have during my entire life. And I am 61 years old!!! So tell me…exactly WHO is the lazy one…Oh, I forgot, he has an excuse. He is Hawaiian…Obama says he wants everyone’s incomes to be equalized, or to be shared… Fine – let’s all petition the government for OUR $4,000,000 Hawaiian vacation. Or does he follow the Animal Farm philosophy of equality?

      FOR THE RECORD! George W. Bush spent MORE TIME on vacation that any other President. That is a fact.

      There was no griping from Conservatives about how much it was costing the taxpayers for him to sit on his butt all that time.

      He was on vacation in Crawford, Texas when Katrina hit and people were dying and couldn’t be bothered to leave to go back to the White House to oversee the emergency response.

      This constant criticism of Obama by Conservatives when he is on vacation is just Political Bashing with an underlying racist motivation.
