There’s nothing good about seeing a man cry as he campaigns to be president of the United States. It’s not humanizing or endearing. But Newt Gingrich cried Friday in Iowa while participating in a forum hosted by Republican Strategist Frank Luntz. The audience was made up almost exclusively of mothers.
Luntz asked Gingrich about his mother and Gingrich choked up and shed some tears.
Mitt Romney made fun of the moment. At a separate event later in the day, he talked about his own parents and how they raised him, adding, “No, no, I won’t cry,” according to Politico.
Thank God. There’s no shame in crying, but laying it out in public? Spare me. There’s no way Michele Bachmann would get away with it. None of the men should either.

Posted on January 1, 2012 at 6:25amToo little too late Eddie. I don’t need more of this crap. I can get that just about anywhere. I have always trusted that The Blaze has done its homework before going into print. Glenn promised that. I don’t need a website that throws its spaghetti against the wall to see what sticks. I want complete honesty from The Blaze. Its what I’ve come to expect. Its what Glenn Beck promised. After all, what is the percentage of people who actually go back into a story to see if anything has been retracted? So, as far as I am concerned, retractions are pretty much useless, except that it covers the butt of the retractor. In this case, Eddie. Wake up Glenn. Stop this sort of thing before its too late.

Posted on January 1, 2012 at 1:41amI don‘t care what spin you put on Mitt’s words, he is a jackass. I am ashamed to admit we attend the same Church. It is hard to decide which is the worst politicians in America; Barack Obama, ron paul, or Mitt Romney.
Report Post »btw- I am not supporting Newt Gingrich, but I admire him far more than Romney will ever be able to earn. Anyone in Iowa voting for ron paul or Romney should be ashamed of themselves. Both are extremely dangerous men.

Posted on December 31, 2011 at 5:06pmEddie Scarry‘s insensitivity makes me wanna’ cry.
There is nothing weak about a man shedding a tear about his deceased mother-
especially one who suffered hardship.
As a matter of fact, in many cultures, it is cherished, human trait
to see a grown man express love & grief for his mother, alive or deceased.
Melancholy strikes us, in all sorts of way, everyone handles it differently.
Newt has basic humane kindness & warmth-
when have you ever seen Obama display any affection for his mother ?
And no, we don’t want to see Willard Romney cry-
Report Post »his mascara might run and ruin his ruddy, rich boy complexion.

Posted on December 31, 2011 at 1:05pmI am floored that this is every on here. Politico (who totally leans democratic) even admitted they made a mistake about this.
Actually, what was said. Mitt was talking about his parents. Someone in the audience said, “are you going to cry?” Mitt said, “No, No I won’t cry, but it’s nothing to be ashamed of.”
Politico tried to get a rise out of people (with false facts) now it seems Eddie is trying to do the same thing: Actual video> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-ST9FH6Rmk

Posted on December 31, 2011 at 11:41amDitto! It’s more than understandable to show emotion and shed a tear for someone that you cared for and miss very much. If only the rest of the world was as perfect as Eddie Scarry….but then again it wouldn’t be!

Posted on December 31, 2011 at 8:19amThere you again. Eddie is this YOUR website? Are we here to read your worthless opinions? Who made you king? Oh – probably the same person who made Ed Schultz?
Glenn – you need to get rid of this guy. He is hurting you.

Posted on December 31, 2011 at 5:20amThis is just ridiculous. There is nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with shedding a tear when remembering ones mother. To make a big deal of this is ludicrous. I am becoming quite disenchanted with this the Blaze’ coverage. In fact, I am losing trust. It was Glenn Beck’s tears that had prompted me to check him out, and then his website later. I trusted the man who shed tears for the things he cared deeply about. This is so disappointing.
