Entertainment Have you seen the videos of the super-fast Chilean finger painter?

Finger Painter from Chile Creates Landscapes With Impressive Speed

While finger painting may conjure up memories from preschool where everyone made rainbows and crude family portraits, those created by Fabian Gaete Maureira with extreme speed are amazing landscapes. Many have said Maureira’s style reminds them of the techniques used by painter Bob Ross, who Blaze assistant editor Tiffany Gabby remembers as the “dab dab dabaroo guy”.

American painter Bob Ross.

Ross was an American painter best know as the host of the TV show The Joy of Painting and for his technique of dabbing the brushes in certain ways to make the images of trees, mountains, clouds, water and other landscape elements appear effortlessly. Ross is also probably known for his soothing voice that could mesmerize audiences into a world of borderline drooling wonder over his creations — or was that just me? GeekOSystem and others on Reddit, the social news site, conversing about Maureira’s work compare his finger painting technique to that like Ross created with his brush.

Watch Maureira put together an amazingly speedy landscape painting:

Maureira, from Santiago de Chile, states on his blog that that he considers himself an impressionist painter. Maureira also has a YouTube channel with a few older videos that provide a bit more detail on his highly practiced technique for those who may want to try their hand, er, fingers at it.

Here is one of those videos:
