Ben Stein claims he was fired for his global warming beliefs

Ben Stein suing over global warming beliefs
Actor and conservative commentator Ben Stein is suing an ad agency and a Japanese computer company for breach of contract. Stein alleges he was under contract by the two to appear in commercials promoting the computer company but the defendants backed out of the deal when they learned of his views on global warming.

According to the lawsuit, Stein was to be paid $300,000 for fulfilling the agreement he had with Kyocera Mita America, Inc., and Seiter & Miller Advertising.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

[...] Stein alleges that in Feb. 2011 his agent was called by Seiter employee Grace Jao and told that “questions had been raised by defendant Kyocera about whether Ben Stein’s views on global warming and on the environment were sufficiently conventional and politically correct for Kyocera,” according to the complaint.

Stein alleges he informed the ad agency and Kyocera that he was deeply concerned about the environment but he was not certain that global warming is a man-made phenomenon. “He also told [his agent] to inform defendants that as a matter of religious belief, he believed that God, and not man, controlled the weather,” the complaint states.

Days later, Kyocera allegedly withdrew its offer and hired an economics professor at the University of Maryland to appear in the commercials and, “in an astonishingly brazen misappropriation of Ben Stein’s persona, dressed him up as Stein often appeared in commercials (bow tie, glasses, sports jacket).”

Stien mentioned religious beliefs and God. He may well have been fired not for his disagreement about global warming but because of anti-semitism.

Ben: OKAY, OKAY… I believe global warming is man made.

Kyocera Mita America, Inc: Alright.. give the Heretic his $300k contract back.

It’s how funding for GW scientists work. Any scientist that doesn’t believe in it gets Zero funding for studies from The federal government run National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) .

Anyone who still believes in man made global warming is ignorant.
Anyone who expects us to tell them we believe (or else) is asking us to lie.
Anyone who openly asks us to lie, is not trustworthy themselves.
NASA, NOAA, EPA, Dept of Education, assorted corresponding government agencies around the world, the IPCC, GE and now these guys have been demanding that a whole bunch of folks lie, or else.
It’s time to kick a whole bunch of progressives out of office, out of a job and off boards of directors.

Well, at least we know, now, not to buy crappy Kyocera printers and copiers. Once you’ve exposed yourself for what you are, you can’t go back.
Ben is a good guy and will find something else. I hope he gets the $300,000 and more.

Unfortunate but not surprising in this insane world. Human nature doesn’t change, only the names change. Cultural knowledge trumps truth too many time: the sun revolves around the earth; the earth is flat; man is causing climate changes; Obama isn’t a Marxist.

After all that’s come to light about the hoax… Anyone who still believes in it would be a candidate for the saying…” A Demitasse would fit your head like a sombrero “
