Media Joy Behar misquotes Romney‘s ’fire people’ comment

The Views Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Joy Behar debate Romney fire people comment
A comment Mitt Romney made about firing workers during a breakfast with the Chamber of Commerce on Monday is still stirring up conversation. During Thursday’s “The View,” co-hosts Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck debated the perception of Romney’s quote. But Behar had the wrong quote in mind. “It speaks to a tone deafness on his part because just to use the phrase ‘I like to fire people’ does not make him look good,” Behar said.

Never mind putting the quote in context, which makes a world of difference, Behar didn’t even get the quote right in its out-of-context form. Romney actually said “I like being able to fire people.“ The ”being able” changes the the meaning of the quote from actually liking the act of firing a worker to enjoying the option of firing a worker.

Who doesn’t?

It’s a sad commentary when Ricky Perry and Joy Behar are on the same page!

Is anyone surprised at what this woman says? She is a card carrying lefty from the word go, not to mention that what she says, like most of the opinionated “talk shows”, they couldn’t care less if the quote is taken out of context. That seems to be the #1 rule of the liberal playbook. Distort the facts, don’t check your sources, and if its negative against any opposition….run with it. Say it enough times, and soon, people of same thought processes will assume its true. Look at the distortions that Obama and his groupies in Congress use time and time again. And the inept intellectuals, who believe everything they hear or read today, will buy it hook, line and sinker. Joy is doing what she does best, mimicks what the popular lefty opinion is, loudly. We all know that she is a used up, has been, not very funny, loud mouth comedian, that the whole of Hollywood sighed a breath of relief when they finally got her off the stage. Its too bad that HLN and The View felt so sorry for her, that they gave her a job. And since she touts the liberal ideology ssooo well, they have kept her. So, like most of the obnoxious has-beens from Hollywood, there she sits to tout her rhetoric, while we run for the medicine chest, looking for the Advil.

Why do you think Joy Behar’s talk show was cancelled?

Her hateful rhetoric nobody wants. She is disgusting.

But it wasn’t “firing people”, it was that he appreciated the option to fire his INSURANCE COMPANY.

Which straggly under Obamacare and Romneycare employees do not have that option because “employer-provided” is so hardcoded into the regs that one has no choice other than what one’s employer (or union contract) picks.

If I were elected dictator one of the first things I would do is outlaw employer-provided healthcare insurance. Give the money direct to employees and let them chose which and whether they want insurance. Restore REAL competition.

The “I like to fire people” misquote was on Fox tonight, also. Either O‘Reilly of Hannity’s show.

No serious businessman enjoys firing people. It cuts into the profit margin. However, sometimes you have to cut your losses if you are dealing with a company or an individual who isn’t providing adequate services. There’s nothing wrong with being pleased at having that option.
