Media GOP debate on the surface: S.C V.2.0

CNN Republican debate in South Carolina
Is it debate fatigue or was CNN’s pre-South Carolina primary debate intensely boring? Thank God for THE BLAZE’s live chats. Here are the kibbles and bits:

1. How awesome was the audience? It forced John King, who moderated, to get with the program and allow Ron Paul to answer a CNN Republican debate in South Carolinaquestion about abortion, given Paul’s background as a medical doctor. If it weren’t for the audience, King would have coasted by the obvious choice of letting a doctor talk about health care.

2. But speaking of Paul, someone get him a new tie. This was the third debate in a row in which he wore same terrible 1970s-patterend necktie. On the other hand, Paul called Rick Santorum “overly sensitive” at one point, and that was pretty funny.

3. Santorum did very well for himself. “Grandiosity has never been a problem with Newt Gingrich. He handles it very well,” Santorum said, responding to a question about a suggestion by Gingrich that Santorum should drop out of the race. It’s about time someone called Gingrich out on that, am I right? He also accused Gingrich of not having “cogent thoughts.”

4. Gingrich consistently performs well in the debates. He sticks it to the moderator(s) and the audience loves it. But his outrage over being asked about the new interview his ex-wife granted to ABC News was a bit of pious baloney. Most Americans care more about jobs, I’m sure. But it was an issue that would have inevitably been brought up and better sooner than later.

5. Finally, Mitt Romney stood up for himself and his record as a CEO at Bain Capital. “I’m not going to apologize for being successful,” he said. But it would have been more impressive had he kept his hands out of his pockets.

6. Rick Perry: Gone but not forgotten.

What happened to the ‘truth’? You are simply taking reports – and your giving your opinion. I don’t care about your opinion – I came here because it was supposed to be the truth.

You obviously have a real problem with Gingrich, Paul, Santorum and Romney. Thanks for building up the party that we desperately need to win this election.

Can‘t understand Glenn’s comments about Newt the last few days… listened to the radio show on the way to work and couldn’t believe the hostility (well beyond satire). Just canceled by subscription to GBTV tonight as a result (somewhat remorsefully I might add). If I want to hear this much criticism all I have to do is listen to ABC News or CNN. I like (liked) listening to GB for some ‘balance’ and fresh perspectives. This harsh tone and apparent alignment with ‘the media elite’ is inexplicable and not what I signed up for. There is no Ronald Reagan in the race. Feel like I’ve just parted ways with a best friend. But still have Rush and Hannity!

Yeah I don’t listen to Glenn as much anymore cause he gets all preachy. I usually listen only because I enjoy listening to Stu and Pat goofing off. Like listening to Rush not Hannity because he is pqrt of the elitist media too.

Look, all Glenn‘s comments stem from Newt Gingrich admitting he’s a big-time progressive. Newt even admits as much. So, don’t take it out on GBTV. I think it’s a very informative and groundbreaking network. By the way, no this is not a paid advertisement. Finally, we must be able to get over our prejudices and defend, justify, and prove our positions. Picking up our toys and going home admit defeat. It further shows our inability to articulate our reasons behind supporting a particular candidate.

Seems to me Newt wants to a polygamist in fact if not in name. Tell me what’s the difference between a polygamist and a man having sexual relations with more than one women in the same period of time? Does anyone know if Newt has any genealogical links to Joseph Smith. Seems he was trying to do the same thing to his wife that Joseph did to Emma. I wonder if it would have worked for Newt if he would have told her that “God commanded me”. I am glad there is some humor in politics. I don’t know if I should laugh or cry.

Santorum can take the “poor boy-Rocky Balboa” bit and shove it – tired of it. Paul – that guy is still off his meds. Everything comes backto the debt/Fed – and frankly, Santorum “schooled” him on his 50% voting on prolife. Paul may be from Texas – but would never have stood at the Alamo! Romney – now with McCains file coming out on the web – and gingrich continues to school him on his taxes and foreign policy. Romney counters that “jobs and economy” – but Paul owns that – so Romney is going down – first SC – then Florida. Santorum will be gone and the media will ignore Paul.
Newts wife – hey, this is all old news and frankly – either Obummer was a monk or gay – because as far aw we can tell – he had no female-based relationship before Michelle.
Ex-marriages – hey, Obummer won;t touch it – Think Biden and his crap when his wife was dying -etc. I don’t car about Marianna – I’ll listen to the kids – because that was more important – an they havea good relationship with there Dad. Two people who never should have married were Newt and Marianna. So it ended badly – who cares. Screw ABC-SCREW CNN.
