Newt Gingrich is just ahead of Mitt Romney for first place in Real Clear Politics’ average of polling data in South Carolina. Even so, Gingrich couldn’t get a enough people to show up in support of him at an event in Charleston. He had to cancel the event.
From the AP:
There were just a few dozen people in the audience at the College of Charleston’s arena, where the event was taking place. The conference has suffered from low attendance all week but Gingrich rival Rick Santorum went ahead and addressed the group on Thursday.
Gingrich’s spokesman said skipping the stop would give the former House speaker more time at his next scheduled event, a tour of a children’s hospital.
South Carolina’s primary is held Saturday.

Posted on January 21, 2012 at 11:04amI guess the size of the crowd wasn’t grandiose enough for Gingrich.

Posted on January 20, 2012 at 2:14pmYou gotta be kidding!
Report Post »The bias against Gingrich (and Paul and ???) is so obvious now that The Blaze has lost all credibility as a source of news/reporting and is certainly not where one can go to find anything close to the “truth”.
Your headline declares: GINGRICH FAILS TO DRAW CROWD
but the copy goes on to reveal that “the conference suffered from low attendance all week” and that, unlike Gingrich, Santorum decided to address those in attendance despite their small numbers. So why doesn’t the headline declare that “SANTORUM FAILS TO DRAW A CROWD”???
PLUS, you run a photo of an utterly empty arena despite the fact that, yet again, the copy that follows contradicts the image.
This kind of blatant, idiotic bias makes the pretentious sanctimony of Glenn Beck all the more incredible. Disgusting.

Posted on January 20, 2012 at 3:44pmI said it this morning, it’s a Beck mormon thing. He is in the tank for Romney and has been trying to discredit Newt for weeks. The Blaze is now ramping up the trash talk and if I didn’t know better I would have thought I was on the Huffington Post site.

Posted on January 20, 2012 at 3:58pmHi there NOCALIFORNIA
In addition to Eddie Scarry’s bullspit, did you also see the big headline from Tiffany Gabbay’s piece about how Gingrich AVOIDED the first question last night? That is a flat out LIE. He answered the question directly. So why the big LIE from The Blaze? Hmmmm.
BTW, what does your handle mean? NoCalifornia???

Posted on January 20, 2012 at 6:20pmThe nocalafornia means no california style nut jobs here in Colorado. I left California 10 years ago and relocated my family to Colorado, the best damn thing I ever did. We were sick of the liberal B S, the gangs, the graffiti, the having to live in a gated community with alarms on every thing we owned, and I saw industry moving out in droves due to the environmental nut jobs running the place. They can keep there dirty brown air and their dirty brown illegals.

Posted on January 20, 2012 at 9:35pmHmm…. Ron Paul had a large crowd. Oh, and before you call me a Paulbot, or whatever the flavor of the day is, it might ruffle the feathers of some, but I am a bit too “mature” to be so easy offended. Yes, registered Republican since 1977, voting for Reagan both times. Even made the magnificent mistake of voting for GW. Never again will I vote for anyone who does not hold the ideals of limited government and fiscal responsibility.

Posted on January 22, 2012 at 6:00amMy sentiments exactly! I feel bad for the fair-minded writers and support staff for TheBlaze and related GB media who signed up expecting ‘their company’ would have higher standards… it’s unfortunate that TheBlaze editorial staff is doing to itself what those on the left have been trying to do for months!!
