Media Gingrich on silent debate: ‘It was almost silly’

Newt Gingrich says he wont allow silencing of audience in future debates
During Monday’s Republican debate heading into the Florida primary, many of the readers who participated in the THE BLAZE’s live chat noted how disturbingly quiet the audience was. There were no whoops and hollers or boos, a distinction from past debates. There were some claps, but otherwise, silence.

Newt Gingrich said Tuesday morning on Fox News that in upcoming debates “we won’t tolerate — we’re just not going to allow that to happen.“ He said in ”retrospect“ he wishes he ”had protested when Brian Williams took [the crowd] out of it because I think it’s wrong.” Williams, anchor of NBC’s “Nightly News,” moderated the debate.

Gingrich’s rise as a frontrunner in the race is largely credited to his feisty performances at the debates. “People ought to be able to applaud if they want to. It was almost silly,” he said.

I don’t like audience participation. These are debates not popularity contests and entertainment. What do you think this is …the WWF??? Shut up and listen to what is being said. regardless of the stupid questions asked there is substance to the candidates answers. I’m getting tired of the Newt smackdowns…Who the heck does he think he is?!? He’s turning into a moron….or maybe just a bigger one.

    Silly?

I am now finally convinced that the silliest person in that room is Newt.

Watch carefully as he avoids answering most questions directly, simultaneously suggesting he has solutions—-which are all made by HIM or the government.

Romney at least looks to free enterprise.

Newt is in fact a right-wing progressive.

No conservative can vote for him with a conscience.

WHEN ARE WE ALL GOING TO WAKEUP?? The public as well as the candidates are all falling for the democrat strategy of destroying all the opposition. Before you going tearing the candidates apart, remember these points: (This goes for Glenn and the candidates themselves as well)
    1) NONE of them are perfect, they ALL have pro‘s and con’s
    2) ALL of them are 100x better than Obama.
    3) On the single most important role the next President will play, ANY of them would do a good job. That is selecting the controlling vote on the Supreme Court.

One of these men MUST win the general election if we are to survive as a free nation. It’s good to debate which one would do better, but PLEASE do it in a constructive way! Any of us may believe that one is better than the others, but any one of the four would be acceptable compared to what we have.

It was a terrible debate. Gingrich and Romney continuously pecking at each other, like two big, plastic, progressive chickens, was dull beyond belief – neither is likable or trustworthy.

Santorum and Paul were interesting and came across as “real” people, with real ideas.

Poor guy. Only relies on those voters that don‘t think for themselves and don’t do their own research to cheer for and applaud him which builds mindless momentum which turns into more votes. You have NOTHING else to offer, Newt. NOTHING except that you’re a slick talker and smooth salesman. But your record in government and in your personal life speak for themselves. I can’t even believe anyone takes Newt seriously. We voted for a “smooth talker” in 2008. Let’s not make that same mistake again! PLEASE! I want someone honest and consistent and has REAL ideas! Someone PRESIDENTIAL! Luckily there’s Ron Paul, and I can’t wait to vote for him!

I like Ron Paul, but why are so many of his supporters so naive and brain dead?
