Entertainment More proof that we lost a brilliant singer when Whitney Houston died

Whitney Houston was an amazing singer. Her gift was lost forever when she passed away yesterday at the age of just 48. In an era of auto-tuned voices, Whitney’s was one that could blast through the noise without the aid of electronic tricks.

Want proof?

Here’s the isolated vocal tracks from her studio session for the mid-80s smash, “How Will I Know.”

R.I.P. Whitney.

    Indeed, Whitney Houston is a great loss in the music industry and the diva fan base. It is very unfortunate to lose such a great talent that way, however, on a positive note, this might have freed her from a burden that she couldn’t bear anymore. We (http://www.v-picks.com) are sure that her career and life will always be remembered by many of us.

    I’m a garage band musician and singer all my life literally since 10 and she can sing like very very few people. Her voice IS AN INSTRUMENT, or I guess I mean was.

    How someone with all those gifts would be so troubled to throw em away for a mound of crack cocaine is a strong testament to what kind of monkey that is to get off ones back.

    Been there done it, survived it, thank God.

    I’m now 48 just like Houston, and If I didn‘t stop 20 years ago I’d be dead too.

    And some people *still* want to legalize “recreational” drugs. :-(

      @SFFAM

      Ah – thanks, I’ve seen it before, but couldn’t figure out the actual meaning. Now I know – thanks!

    I will always remember her singing the National anthem at the Super Bowl in 1993(?).

    I still get chills when I hear it. She was the best.

    What does “H/T Perez Hilton” mean as the footer of this story?

    Her voice was incredible but people must remember that everyone has a talent and that the rest of their lives need to be controlled or they will end up a shell of human like Whitney did or worse yet, dead like her.
