We finally know what Americans the “fair share” of the rich should be

Usually, when pollsters ask the American people if the rich should pay more in taxes–the answer is yes. However, the Hill asked a far more important question–what rate should the rich be paying?
Of those who answered:

  • 80% think taxes on the rich should be lower than they are today.
  • 94% think taxes on the rich should be lower than what Obama says he wants to raise them to.
  • 98% think taxes on the rich should be lower than what Obama will actually allow them to be.

If that’s true, why do people always say they want the rich to pay more?  Essentially–Americans have no idea what tax rate the rich are paying. So, they’re just guessing on what they feel.  When they know the facts, they think those rates are obscene.  Republicans, independents, and democrats agree.  It’s a consensus!

The media has been so successful vilifying the rich, that the American people find themselves strongly disagreeing with…themselves. Nice work media!

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

The whole world has turned against Syria, Libya, Egypt, Putin and Iran. I have no idea why. If Iran has nuke so many others have these. Libya was ruled by the tyrant so was Egypt. The leaders did not want to vacate the seats. But Putin rigging in the votes? That is very common and why the international community ought to get in there and show us the thumb prints of the voters and hide the speaker who gives the news, does not baffle me. These are common. We must leave Russia out as they too have powers, albeit broken now after USSR was, now the small Russia. The Middles East has had the problem from years and why external parties get into these, is not understood by me and to be very honest even if I did know, I too remain silent as someone else hold the reins. How about this? We take back the power of taxation from the politicians. They are flush with cash that they coerced from We the People. We need to take the power back and have a Fairtax with a low tax rate. Cut the Federal Bureaus in half and let the people earn a living via their own innovations.
$$$$ = power. They take your $$$$$$ and your power.

Rich are more likely to behave badly, according to seven experiments that weighed the ethics of hundreds of people. The “upper class,” as defined by the study, were more likely to break the law while driving, take candy from children, lie in negotiation, cheat to increase their odds of winning a prize and endorse unethical behaviour at work, researchers reported today All want to go for the Gold marathon . Where there a cash even, I would not mind joining the corporation. Who does not want more cash? Name one person? I thank you Firozali A.Mulla DBA

Just to make for fair comparisons:
In the US – the top 1% of people who file tax returns actually PAY just about 40% of all money sent to the Feds.

While I desire to pay less tax – I do not like the strangle hold these folks have. Nor do I like the fact that the bottom 50% of tax payers pay about 1% of actual tax revenues paid to the Feds.

Stu, I do not see where you get from the crosstab you linked the conclusion that 80% think taxes on the rich should be lower than they are today.

If you’re using Firefox, there’s an extension called NoScript (and similar extensions for Chrome too like ScriptNo)
      Cleans everything up very nicely!
