Howard Kurtz: MSM ‘has it in’ for Limbaugh

Longtime media critic Howard Kurtz is a little late to the game but his comments on the Rush Limbaugh-Sandra Fluke controversy are worth the read.

On the news media’s general rejection of Limbaugh’s apology for calling Fluke a “slut,” Kurtz writes :

The apology failed for another reason: the mainstream media, much mocked by Limbaugh, has it in for him. There was no uproar in the press when Bill Maher, now a million-dollar donor to Obama’s super PAC, called Sarah Palin the C word as well as a “dumb twat.” Ed Schultz’s slut attack was a relative blip. Limbaugh, who is carried on more than 600 stations, has a far bigger megaphone, but he’s cut no slack by the left-leaning media. Slutgate was carried on MSNBC every 10 minutes or so (and largely downplayed at Fox News).

Howard Kurtz, if you are considered a genius in the media, the media must be filled with imbeciles. Of course the MSM has it out for Rush. This has been true for many years. Glad you finally figured it out!!

And on the subject of Rush–GOOD, he DESERVES to be attacked, and not just for this most recent re-demonstration of what an abysmal and abhorrent creature he is. Rush has made a career out of saying the stupidest and most inflammatory things. He has earned neither respect nor sympathy from anyone intelligent, and whatever suffering (and it’s far less than Limbaugh’s sympathizers make it out) happens to him as a result of this, he has only himself to blame, and deserves every bit of it.

  @THE THIRD ARCHON I wonder if you have ever actually listened to Rush for even an entire show. Of course, unlike you, who claim to be omniprescient, I can’t read your mind or know your heart. You say the most outrageous things concerning a man who you don’t even know. Reading your posts are like reading the most extreme, left-wing, Marxist propaganda, based on tried and true Nazi journalism perfected by your mentor Joseph Goebbels. Does it really make you feel any better to know Fox is just as nakedly partisan? And for the record, the non-Fox cable news networks may sometimes (hardly unilaterally as they are made out to be) be anti-Republican, perhaps even more frequently than anti-Democrat, but BY NO MEANS, does this automatically make them Leftists. This may come as a shock to you, particularly if you AREN’T a Leftist, which you probably aren’t, but we don’t HAVE a Leftist party in this country, at least, not one wholly devoted to the ideals of Leftism that actually WINS elections, in the same way that the Republican party is WHOLLY, and the Democrat party is to a partial extent, dedicated to maintaining the status quo–’keep things the same as they’ve been’ is the conservative marching song, and sameness if the name of the political game in America. Everything about the system is designed to favor insular and determined (well-organized and well-resourced) political minorities in their ability to stonewall any change. Why do you think it took us one hundred years and a civil war later than the rest of the world to end slavery? Why do you think we had racism against blacks established, nay required, by law for almost 100 years following that war? It’s not an accident that we are bicameral, or have an electoral college…it helps one ideology more than the others.

The problem seems to be jealousy because of Limbaugh’s big following and that he has become an American icon. Hard to top him at this point, so why not try and shoot him down.

  “American Icon”? Please! Just because he is among, if not, the single most listened to radio talk show host, doesn’t mean ****. That’s like saying “he won gold medals in all his special Olympics events.” Well good for you Mr. Limbaugh, I see you only were able to do so by being a POS (wonder what that says about large pluralities of talk radio listeners…), and I see that that is still (the ENTIRETY of the talk show audience, above and beyond just Limbaugh’s audience) a small plurality of the total of the American population. So good for you, you racist POS–am I supposed to be impressed?
  
  By the by, you are more than welcome to consider Limbaugh iconic for yourself and your idea of America, but PLEASE for America’s sake, don’t pretend that he is representative of ALL of us–you can do MUCH better.

Rush is Right…….Why should anybody pay for your birth control but you or the guy your with. Hellooooo….. Everyone else does that unless you want babies or just don’t have sex……
Why should the school pay for it? Lady it is part of being an adult. Being responsible. How old are you? Your acting like a child…………….If your having so much sex seems like you are a slut. Maybe start asking for money to pay for your pills. Then your a prostitute. Like I said Rush is right….

Rush Limbaugh has exposed them for 25 years for what they are.
Rush will never cave to their blackmail and their intimidation even thou a few of his sponsors have.

The left as well as the state run news army don’t like ANY opposition and Rush for 25 years has been … “The Opposition”.

Rush Limbaugh is a very powerful man but he is also a private citizen. He is not a politician.
Yet we have a sitting President trying to silence him .. thats monumental.

Seem’s Kurtz’s biggest gripe is that Fox News downplayed “Slutgate”. Kurtz is always late to the game on any issue. He still self-operates on a old journalist schedule rather than an internet schedule He’s always at least six days behind everyone else.
