Michelle Obama distances self from Hilary Rosen

In a personal tweet sent out today Michelle Obama (and we know it’s personal because tweets from her Twitter account signed “mo” are said to be directly from the First Lady) put exactly 200 miles of distance between her and comments made last night by CNN contributor Hilary Rosen.

“[Mitt Romney's wife Ann] has actually never worked a day in her life,” Rosen said. “She’s never really dealt with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing in terms of how do we feed our kids, how do we send them to school and how do we . . .  why we worry about their future.”

Rosen’s comments have been publicly condemned by prominent figures on President Barack Obama‘s reelection campaign, including David Axelrod (adviser) and Jim Messina (spokesman).

And now by Michelle Obama herself.

Hey I’ll get back to you guys when I get around to caring what that racist, angry, meddling, ugly sorry excuse “for the first time I am really proud of my country” first “lady” says about anything.

    Working women?

FLASHBACK: (14 January 2009) She hasn’t shown up for work very regularly over the last year or so, so when Michelle Obama’s $300,000 job was cut at the University of Chicago Hospitals, it may have been hard to notice the difference.

    FLASHBACK: (January 9, 2009)
President-elect Barack Obama announced this week that he plans to name Susan Sher to the post of associate counsel to the president, where she will work on legal issues associated with health care policy and provide legal advice to the first lady.

It’s a position she won’t find unfamiliar: Sher is general counsel and a vice president at the University of Chicago Medical Center and has been a close friend and mentor to Michelle Obama for many years. They also both worked on medical center initiatives that have become the focus of a Senate Republican’s inquiry into whether the nonprofit hospital has been “culling the least profitable patients from its emergency room.”

Sher had recruited Michelle Obama for a community relations job at the center, where Obama in time ascended to vice president for external affairs. In that post, she and Sher worked together on the center’s efforts to steer patients with non-urgent complaints away from the center’s crowded emergency room and into local health clinics.

The first lady is responding with respect. What Hilary Rosen said wasn’t that deep.. Really! I just wish people could act with common sense. It’s funny for years you think racism and sexism had diminished over the years, then vote a black president in and all the Mayberry fascist weirdos come out of hiding to set us back 60 years! I’m against abortion, godlessness and the like. But I don’t see why people can’t be moderate in their thinking. Even other rightwing women agree that they are being unfairly treated. I think the republican party has been hijacked by a bunch of nut jobs. The first lady has always acted with class and her statement though brief exemplifies just that.

michelle obama…really doesn’t care. She’s just putting it out there like she really does care because she thinks it will get votes for bo. So what she say’s I dismiss. If she really cared…she wouldn’t try and change our Country.
