This is an old video of Rep. Denny Rehberg (R-Mont.) picking his nose on national television during an apparent hearing on preserving ecosystems.

Here’s his technique:

1. Stroke mustache to get near nose.

2. Slide hand up toward nostrils in tricky fashion which is meant to be inconspicuous but actually draws more attention to what Rehberg is doing.

3. Go in for the kill.

4. Use thumb which allows other fingers to “hide” the nose.

5. Look at what you’ve retrieved.

6. Drop contents on lap.
