Hard Facts: Fossil Fuel Production on Federal Lands at 9-Year Low

Every month in The Blaze Magazine we run a section full of charts and graphics called “Worth 1,000 Words.” Here’s one of our handy-dandy charts from the newest issue of The Blaze Magazine.

The Obama administration will try to cover this up, but according to work and research done by the Institute for Energy Research (IER), total fossil fuel production on federal lands is falling.

Hard Facts: Fossil Fuel Production on Federal Lands at 9 Year Low

*Crude oil production on federal lands decreased 13 percent from fiscal year (FY) 2010 to FY 2011. Production of crude oil on federal lands is dominated by offshore production, which fell by 17 percent in FY 2011, mostly due to a government moratorium on offshore drilling and a permit moratorium.

*Natural gas production on federal lands decreased every year since fiscal year 2003. In FY 2011, natural gas production on federal lands was 10 percent less than in FY 2010 and 31 percent less than in FY 2003. Offshore natural gas production volumes are 63 percent less in FY 2011 than in FY 2003.

*Coal production on federal lands peaked in FY 2008 and decreased each year since. In FY 2011, coal production was down 2 percent from FY 2010 and 8 percent from FY 2008.

Maybe the whole thing has to come crashing down before we can build it back up. Its sad that so many people in this country stand around with there hands out and ask wheres mine. Obama supports brazilian state owned oil but doesent support American oil production. Maybe its his democratic socialism showing, loser. Anyone but Barry 2012.

This is like big news to anyone who actually looks around and pays attention instead of listening to the liar in chief’s baloney? Did any of the people who believe his lies now actually listen to what he said before he was elected? I kind of doubt it. The only reason everything is more expensive now is GW Bush’s fault and has nothing to do with Obama’s “necessarily skyrocketing” energy price policies. Got to make us equal to his relatives living in Kenya ya know.

How does this benefit but only a choosen few? This is the begining of the end of humanity as we know it. They want to control the energy we use the air we breath the food we eat the land air and water even the money we spend . They have been decieving us for a long time. Open your eyes what do you see open your ears what do you hear? Can you understand the words that are coming out of his mouth? One world currency is what they said one leader for all nations an equal playing field. Wake upsleepers and prepare yourselves do not be ignorant any longer why do you think they took Glenn Beck off of fox ? He was warning us but many thought he was mad? How foolish we are to stand. By and be herded like lambs to the slaughter.

Distorting words for political gain: it’s a Beckster scam (again). When did the President say that production on federal land was higher than it has been in years? He didn’t. He said that domestic production overall was higher than it has been in years.

Apples and oranges. Make sure you read the facts and not what you want to read.

Obama said that under his administration oil production was up. His administration only controls the oil on federal lands, he can only take claim for the production he controls. The production on federal land is down 13%. He blames others for his failures on one hand and then try’s to take credit for other peoples success with the other. That’s pathetic…
The fact that I balance the budget in my house while he’s Pres. doesn’t give him the right to take credit for it. He still can’t balance the budget he’s responsible for. Got it…Good..

Read the report. The purported drop was on FEDERAL LANDS. 90% of US oil is NOT ON FEDERAL LANDS. Best disinformation I have read today. I just wish one time real facts were used not pretend information which clearly showed that you and most other posts don’t know where US oil actually exists nor do you seem to care to show your ignorance.

but our president said that our oil production is at an 10 year high! – OH- I get it – the PRIVATE industry is at a 10 year high – it is just our dear leader taking credit for something he had nothing to do with, in fact, something he tried, and succeeded in stifling. So the fed land oil is down, – that is the prez and his regulatory demon, epa demon, interior demon, etc… their “good” work – - – and the increased production is due to the American people and business on private lands. I get it.

The Sun is out, bless Obama for sunshine.
