Michele Bachmann can now run for office in Switzerland

Michele Bachmann has dual citizenship with Switzerland and U.S.Former presidential candidate Michele Bachmann became a citizen of Switzerland in March, giving her dual-citizenship status with the European country and the U.S.

How in delicious hot chocolate hell did this happen?!

Marcus Bachmann, the congresswoman’s husband since 1978, reportedly was eligible for Swiss citizenship due to his parents’ nationality — but only registered it with the Swiss government Feb. 15. Once the process was finalized on March 19, Michele automatically became a citizen as well …

Even though she can if she wants to, Bachmann says she has no plans on running for office in the most vanilla country in all of Europe.

This is an asinine story, not worthy of The Blaze. Not surprisingly, the Politico had it wrong (and probably not by accident). MB received her dual citizenship in 1978 when she married her husband, a Swiss national. She did not receive it in March. “Conservatives” who attacked her on this were either ignorant or malevolent. Beyond that, EQUALJUSTICE is right on target.

She’s has a ring side seat and sees what’s happening in this country. She is giving herself an OUT! I say good for her. I would love to leave, too, if we continue on this path.
