Jay Carney swears White House meeting with Obama and Bush won’t be weird

Former President George W. Bush has stayed away from the White House and saying much about the presidency since leaving the post four years ago.

His successor, President Barack Obama, has not been so hesitant in speaking ill about Bush and the previous administration. The current president has found a way to blame his predecessor for everything from the economy to the recent GSA scandal to losing “our way as a country”Β after President Bill Clinton left office.

Despite the seemingly bad blood, The Hill reports that White House Press Secretary Jay Carney says the mood will not be awkward when President Obama meets former President Bush in the White House Thursday to unveil the forty-third president’s official portrait.

β€œNot at all,” White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters on Wednesday. β€œI know the president looks forward to it.”

Mentioning the bookΒ The Presidents Club, Carney said that while there are differences between the two leaders’ policies, β€œThere is a community here with very few members that transcends political and policy differences.

β€œI think the spirit represented by that book … is what will be represented here,” he said.

The Associated Press notes that Bush appeared withΒ President ObamaΒ last year atΒ New York’s ground zero to recognize the September 11 terrorist attacks ten years later,Β and again along with formerΒ President Bill ClintonΒ in theΒ Rose GardenΒ following the devastating Haiti earthquake in January 2010.

Bush spokesman Freddy Ford told AP that George and Laura Bush were “looking forward to seeing a lot of their friends from the administration and they are grateful to the President andΒ First LadyΒ for their hospitality.”

I like GWB more now that he is out of office. He and his wife act with Presidential class. Unlike the squtter there now.

The only reason it won’t be weird is that Bush has more class in his pinky finger than Oblunder could ever dream of having.

The biggest difference in GW’s portrait and the soon to be painted one of Obama is that GW will not have a halo………the audacity of dope!!

GW has class! It was Barney Frank and Chris Dodd working their “magic” so well on the “housing bubble” that GW was tarnished by their INCOMPETENCE!!!

George W. Bush is and has always been a class act.

Sadly he was too much of a nice guy and let Congress spend like a drunken sailor.

I know it’s all for show but I hope that Bush decks Barak Husain in the throat for the American people and Laura sets their Muslum prayer rugs on fire, in order to clean house.

Anyone can handle a staged event like that one. Even the Obamas and Bushes. Everyone knows Michelle will be popping Valium and Obama will have a smoke and a drink or 6 afterward.
