F&F: Chris Matthews says congressional investigation is racist
In a way only Chris Matthews would, the liberal anchor attacked House Republicans investigating Attorney General Eric Holder’s involvement in Fast and Furious as having an “ethnic” motivation. “Is this sort of stop-and-frisk at the highest level?” Matthews asked his guest, San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown. “Go after the attorney general, get him to empty his pockets, stand in the spotlight.”
WATCH:
This racially charged rhetoric caught the eye of Newsbusters’ Scott Whitlock who noted the irony behind Matthews’ Nixon reference:
The left-wing journalist weirdly speculated as to Congressman Darell Issa’s motives: “If he can humiliate this guy, if he can get to him, he’ll be a big star in the Republican caucus. He’ll be Dick Nixon.”
Congressman Richard Nixon became a “star” in 1948 by exposing communist spy Alger Hiss. Hiss, of course, was very guilty. So, perhaps this is not the best metaphor for Matthews to use.
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isnβt really about controlling guns at all; itβs about controlling us.
