ODD: Rachel Maddow reveals she’s an objective journalist on ‘Real Time’
There’s an expectation that you’ll have an opinion on everything if you’re invited as a guest on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher. That’s the point of the show. But it escaped MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow last night when it came to talking about Mitt Romney‘s policy record as governor of Massachusetts.
“Romneycare is something that you would agree with?,” Editor of Reason.TV Nick Gillespie said to Maddow. “You would say that’s a great Republican policy?”
It was an assumption posed as a question and Maddow got all touchy. “You don’t know anything about me,” she said. But even host Bill Maher was curious. “Wait, you’re not for Romneycare?,” he said about three times.
“Leave me alone about Romneycare,” Maddow responded, before declaring her new-found role as an objective journalist. “Listen, my job is to cover these things, not to tell you how I like them or not.”
[Uncomfortable pause]
“…oh…well…,” Maher said.

Posted on June 24, 2012 at 8:08pmMaddow is one woman(?) man(?)………help me here what is it??? I cannot listen to for one second. Her voice is like chalkboard scratch. Maher? I can’t watch because he is repulsive to look at like Larry King. You can always spot a liberal radical without them opening their mouth………they are repulsive to look at, Case in point Wasserman-Schultz/Waxman/Sheila Jackson/Maxine Waters/Sharpton………..these people are as ugly outside as inside.
My Bubbele was right: Your inside is manifested outwardly…….(so be nice).

Posted on June 27, 2012 at 7:14pmWow, for a person preaching be “nice” you sure took some superficial shots at peoples looks/appearances. I guess every physically ugly person is mean and every mean person is physically ugly. Thank you for manifesting yourself….

Posted on June 24, 2012 at 4:43pmTo be fair to Maddow, Gillespie was pestering her from the start of the show, constantly weaseling his way into topics he clearly knew nothing about, interrupting Maddow and others, etc. They both made themselves into fools.

Posted on June 24, 2012 at 5:22pmHey there nicki, FYI, he wasn’t pestering her/it with things he didn’t know. She/it was talking out her/its @ss and he wasn’t going to let her/it spew her/it deliberate lies. I find it refreshing to see her/it challenged, if even just a little bit like he did, she/it allows no true debate on her/it—errr…’newscast’ (man, I couldn’t hardly even write it!). What she/it is, is a propagandist. Nothing more, nothing less.

Posted on June 24, 2012 at 6:47amNo intellectually honest person could express a considered opinion on Romneycare without familiarising herself or himself about it.
Romneycare is only relevant and important to the state concerned but not at the federal level other than a comparision with Obamacare in respect of the individual mandate.
But the individual mandate is only one important aspect of Romneycare and a cursory second-hand knowledge of that aspect does not equip one with the basis to express an opinion about the scheme as a whole.
As a liberal or progressive, it would have been understandable and convenient for Rachel to say she liked Romneycare. But that would not have been a considered opinion.
More importantly, I think deep down Rachel does not favour any health care system that that is not both comprehensive and single-payer.

Posted on June 25, 2012 at 4:23amI agree, but she did let that guy get under her skin. I expected her to handle that a lot better than she did.

Posted on June 23, 2012 at 5:59pmDemocrats are Democrats first and even in the face of the indefensible (Eric WithHolder not giving up docs, Cost of ObomaCare, the true state of the economy, Unemployment rate etc.) they will go to the mat, pulling the race card, claiming favoritism for the “rich” and any number of distracting arguments to protect and defend the posiition of the Demoocrat.

Posted on June 27, 2012 at 7:20pmWhat’s “butch” got to do with anything?….. I get not agreeing, but why is there so much name calling. Feels like I’m back in elementary listening to people superficially pick people apart rather than compose an intelligent argument like they would in lets say….. high school, college,or as an adult?

Posted on June 23, 2012 at 12:32pmJust as Rather or Donaldson or a slew of other “journalist” deny bias and claim objectivity, Maddow is little different, other than her transparent bias is easy to discern and the others make more defined attempts at hiding their bias.Is it me or our those on the left getting even more wacky? It’s like their having a meltdown or something.
