New Jersey woman breaks down after praying to tree bark that looks nothing like the Virgin Mary

A little tree on a West New York sidewalk is bringing crowds of people to look at it. Crowds so large police have had to set up barricades around the tree so no one destroys it.

Reason: There’s a nebulous spot on the tree that locals believe looks like the Virgin Mary.

Of course.

“As soon as I got here, I felt this rush when I saw it, this rush from my body,” said Barbara Questel of West New York. “It’s such an amazing feeling.”

If you ask me it looks more like a hot dog in a bun.

When did Mary become part of the Trinity? She isn’t. Jesus never said to pray to her and ask her to intercede. He said to pray to Him.

Some people are always looking for signs rather than figuring out how to get close to God so He can guide you rather than a tree.

I was raised Roma Catholic, we were told not to read the bible. My father died a Roman Catholic, he had never owned or read a bible. This is all mysticism in the church of rome, not from the bible at all.
I started reading the bible and learning hebrew to really understand what it says. I quit the church soon after that. I now believe in the words in the Tanach, nothing else, not Rabbis, not priests, not preachers, just the words.

So you have rejected Jesus as the Messiah? He’s not in the tenach.

OK, for the upteenth time, Catholics do not WORSHIP Mary, Got it?

We pray (ask) for her INTERSESSION for our needs. Just grab the catecism of the Catholic Church and look it up for yourself. All the blather about this matter is just that – blather. Now go home…

Did anyone compare the tree’s image to a photo or accurate drawing of the woman in question? Can anyone describe this person other than “female” “semitic” ?

Roman Catholics believe she is the mother of God, really? I quit the Catholic Church when I started reading the bible from the front…my church told me not to read the bible. My school (catholic nuns and priests for teachers) told us not to read the bible.

jcizarter your story sounds off. The bible is read every week during mass. Who said not to read it? That isn’t what the church says to do.

Just so you know, Protestants believe that people should only pray to Jesus as our intercessor.

Hebrews 7:25. “He is able to save forever those who draw near to God through him, because he always lives to make intercession for them”.

John 14:6 – “I am the way, the truth and the life; no one can come to the Father except through me”

      1 Tim 2:5 – For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Heb 12:24 – And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

If you are not a Druid, is it still okay to pray to this tree?

      WOW!
And people wonder why non believers like myself think the bible and all of i’ts contents are a total waste of a good read. This is a perfect example of how it all started. Here we are 2000 years later and the loony religious freaks are still mixing natural events with devine B.S. If I thought it looked more like a ****** would anyone care? Maybe Larry Flint would be interested as a column in Hustler. BTW, I have three trees in my yard with similar characteristics no big deal, but if you wanna see it , it will cost you $10 a look. Just wondering, why is it always mexicans that find this $hit.
