Stupid laws and stupid TV shows
When I read Becket’s piece on the pillow-tag regulation racket that multiple governments have instituted, my mind immediately went to my internal “File of Useless Crapola” (my largest and most regularly visited file), and I remembered a small clip from “Sledge Hammer!” one of my favorite — and one of the stupidest — TV shows when I was a kid. (To be honest, it’s still one of my favorite shows.)
There’s nothing deep, nothing thoughtful, nothing insightful here. Just a palate-cleanser (sort of).
And yes, that’s Bill Bixby (aka Bruce Banner from “The Incredible Hulk” TV show).
UPDATE: I’ve had some embed issues with this, so, if you’re interested, you can see it here.

Posted on August 8, 2012 at 8:12pmThis show was also one of my favorites when I was growing up! As a normal red-blooded American, I loved guns and cop shows like The A-Team and Sledge!
Doesn’t everyone wish you could just shoot the bad guys or beat the up instead of getting them a lawyer.
There are so many hilarious moments that come to mind from this show:
When Sledge loses his gun and drinks away his sorrow until the bartender realizes he’s not talking about a woman, but his pistol.
When Sledge walks to work narrowly missing being killed by assassins without ever realizing it!
When Sledge smashes the Captain’s window and throws out the stick of dynamite after his partner has already extinguished the fuse in the Captain’s coffee!
A true product of the 80s and apparently a disguised liberal attack on Reagan! Who knew?
