Watch today’s Beck fill-in host Joe Pags playing the National Anthem at a Houston Astros game.

Joe Pagliarulo is so much more than a syndicated talk radio star. He is also an accomplished musician… a sax player. On Wednesday, “Pags” (as the radio community calls him) was invited to play the the National Anthem before the Astros baseball game. Of course we have it for you.

Most of the Blaze editors who know Pags have been giving him the business about this event for weeks… and I was all set to give him a hard time about it… Sadly, I cannot. It’s just too good. Well done, Pags… well done indeed.

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

    Excellent performance, Joe.

And I like that fowl ball post, too.

That’s one of the best renditions I’ve ever heard, excellent job!

One thing though, where is everyone? The stands are empty.

That was amazing! It gave me goosebumps!
I can’t wait until my 14-year-old son gets home from school so that I can let him hear it. He’s been playing the trumpet in his junior high school band (1st chair!) for the past 3 years. Now that he’s in 9th grade (officially as of yesterday) he’s also one of the newest trumpet players for the high school marching band. He loves to play and listen to beautiful music, and I know he will LOVE hearing your rendition of our National Anthem. My son has big aspirations for 4 years from now—becoming a proud member of the LSU “Golden Band from Tigerland”; Hearing and wanting to emulate such talented musicians like yourself is the stuff that keeps him focused on reaching his goal. And I am confident he will do just that!

GREAT JOB, Joe Pags! You didn’t miss a beat! Great tone quality, too! Loved it!
I play bassoon so I’ve never been given the honor of playing Star Spangled Banner like that! How Wonderful!

Listening to Mr. Paggs on the radio, he started talking about “Entitlement Mentality, and “Double Dipping”? I have ANOTHER Double Dipping Senario for Mr. Paggs : How about this, a kid goes into the Military, does 15-20 yrs retires WITH A PENSION, he get out and gets a job at the Postal Service, he works 15-20 yrs., and retires, with a PENSION… BOTH of these GOVT. Occupations are TAXPAYER FUNDED!!! Suppose you could say the person could collect SOCIAL SECURITY and TRIPLE DIPP!!!!
Mr. Paggs, I started working when I was 8!! Cleaning Offices with my Mom, until I was 11 I got a job as a janitor at the City Auditorium, at 15 I got a job as a Doorman at a Theatre. Worked there until I graduated…Long story short, I’ve been WORKING my entire life, until my back broke for the SECOND TIME! It damaged my Sciatic Nerve, I’m in Constant SEVERE PAIN 24/7. I now live on 700.00 a month, because I live in the basement of my EX wife, I cannot collect Food Stamps because the go by Household Income. Been poor my entire life, now its just worse because I am getting worse the Drs. tell me. I will not be able to leave my kids anything when I Pass… I just want YOU to know I CANNOT DOUBLE DIPP according to YOUR Definition, Unlike my Definition.
    PS…
Care to lend my a Million so I CAN leave something for my kids besides worn out Canes?

I skip the Glenn Beck show when Joe Paggs is the host.

I am sorry to hear about your situation, you make a very good point for hard working citizens of the USA. I am told that I should not apply for Social Security when I reach retirement because that is welfare. I will be applying for SS when I retire because I paid for it, I had no choice. I have worked and paid in SS since I was a teenager.

Pretty sure you where not the person he was referring to, and I know several people in your shoes. They wonder how illegals get aid they don’t “qualify” for. I am so sorry for your pain, I have had it and my heart aches for you, it’s so very painful.
