Charlie Crist got a speaking spot at the DNC

Former Florida governor and ex-Republican Charlie Crist endorsed President Obama for reelection yesterday in an op-ed for the Tampa-Bay Times. The AP is now reporting, based on an anonymous official working for the Obama campaign, Crist will speak at the Democratic convention next week.

The official didn’t provide a date or time for Crist’s speech.

“I applaud and share [Obama's] vision of a future built by a strong and confident middle class in an economy that gives us the opportunity to reap prosperity through hard work and personal responsibility,” Crist wrote in his op-ed yesterday.

Crist left the GOP in 2010 when he lost the Party nomination to then-U.S. Senate Candidate Marco Rubio.

Similarly, Artur Davis, a Democrat-turned-Republican who spoke at the DNC in 2008, will speak at the Republican convention.

A perfect example of a self-absorbed politician. Marco Rubio is a statesman who actually cares about the country. Thank the Lord Mr. Rubio won. Mr. Crist will fit right in with the group that wants to push this country down the drain!

Meh. So the Tanned One is getting the opportunity to bask in the glory of his boy crush. He’s just like a teeny bopper at a Justin Beiber concert.
