Flashback: Obama slammed Bush for adding 300,000 jobs/month
While running for the U.S. Senate in 2004, then state Sen. Barack Obama criticized President George W. Bush for jobs reports showing monthly gains of over 300,000 jobs — a criticism he made more than once.
“We’ve got a structural problem in this country,” Obama said at the time. ”What you’ve got is middle class and working class Americans who are being squeezed and working longer hours for less pay; it’s harder for them to find jobs that pay a living wage. And it’s those structural long-term issues that I think Democrats are going to be debating on because that points to whether or not my children… are going to have the same standards of living we had growing up.”
Sound familiar? Yeah, except now he’s the president and the jobs reports are much worse…
