Today’s monthly jobs report is “not even close to what a recovery looks like,” GOP VP contender Paul Ryan told CNBC this morning.
You can say that again:
Speaking of the jobs report, check out America’s “new normal,” courtesy of President Barack Obama:
Here are a few key points to take away from today’s no good awful jobs report:
–Â While the unemployment rate dropped to 8.1% from 8.3% in July, it was due to a big drop in the labor force participation rate, not the creation of new jobs.
– The participation rate in America’s labor force is now at its lowest level since September 1981.
– If the labor participation rate had stayed the same as last month, the unemployment rate would have increased to 8.4%.
– The broader underemployment rate, which includes part-time workers who want full-time work, now sits at 14.7%.
Huzzah! Four more years, or something.

Sep. 7, 2012 at 3:47pmLooking forward to the debates I can see only those people with business experience able to grasp some of issues (important) that the R/R team fields. The swing voter’s eyes will quickly glaze over if they can’t relate to the numbers. Paul mentioned one job found to four jobs lost. Now thats recognizable. Vast dollar amounts will cause a disconnect.
Libs and Dems like to hear a good story, it matters not if it’s true. Conservatives are limited to telling and presenting facts and the truth. They can’t waver but they can bring in the listener by appealing to their improved future, the harm all these regulations will induce, and their diminishing freedoms. (whenever you have more taxes you have less freedom to choose.) The Left is all about choice, but only government choices. And if a government can bestow these ‘choices,” it can remove them at a moments notice as well…
