Feel sorry for the top 13 states saturated with political ads
Because the presidential election will be decided by independent voters in just a few swing states, the campaigns and outside groups are flooding those markets with political ads.
That makes for several months of monotonous commercial breaks (“I’m Mitt Romney/Barack Obama and I approve this ad,” “Paid for by the…,” etc.).
NBC News has a list of the top 13 states getting the most political ad money:
1. Florida – $117.4 million
2. Ohio – $112.1 million
3. Virginia – $85.7 million
4. North Carolina – $56.5 million
5. Colorado – $54.2 million
6. Iowa – $46.6 million
7. Nevada – $38.2 million
8. New Hampshire – $25.3 million
9. Pennsylvania – $19.3 million
10. Wisconsin – $8.1 million
11. Michigan – $8 million
12. Minnesota – $3.2 million
13. New Mexico – $49,000
Though Pennsylvania and Michigan are on the list, the Romney campaign has stopped putting ad money into both, according to Talking Points Memo. An electoral map produced by Politico currently shows Obama winning both states.

Posted on September 11, 2012 at 11:44amIf anyone really cared, this wasted money would go towards feeding the hungry in our own country. The television debates are enough. Obama and Biden should not even be “going on tour” around the country. They were hired to work, not play around in gay and biker bars. Anyone currently in office their time should be spent working. Running around and wasting money on ads is wrong. If they, or anyone in that matter, wants to be re-elected – then you put up a website of all your REAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS on what you have achieved during these 3 1/2 years…. not just run around promising more crap and wasting time and money. People are too backwards, clueless, and wasteful. If I were personally the president, I would tell my accomplishments on live t.v. and tell the people that I hope these accomplishments are enough to keep me here and then I would have a set of goals that I would thrive on completing the next 4 years. Promises and running around, wasting money that could have been donated elsewhere to be really useful is mindless. Negative ads are wrong and only there to scare the old people. How about being, again, POSITIVE, and actually say what you have actually accomplished… unfortunately nothing except turning our country into a downward spiral. Biden is a 2-faced evil fake dweeb.
