Media can’t decide spin on Romney campaign news

Clicking around the web today, you may have noticed a few different narratives taking shape about the Romney campaign…

Politico reports that the Romney campaign is itching to expand its candidate’s appeal by extending its messaging to incorporate more issues and voter groups.  MSNBC eagerly discussed.

Buzzfeed reports, however, that the Romney campaign is sticking to its base.

The Atlantic says nothing has changed.

And then there’s the Washington Post with their own report: It’s the economy, stupid!

Whichever of these “news” stories you believe, one thing is certain: The media are focusing on telling a story rather than reporting on one.  National Review’s Jim Geraghty nails the subject in a new column today with a similar comparison to the media “narrative” on Afghanistan:

Conservatives have griped, louder and louder, about media bias for decades now. Obviously, those complaints fall on deaf ears, or most folks in the mainstream media find them baseless, or unimportant. (Every once in a while, somebody acknowledges it, and says it’s a problem . . . and then nothing happens.)

But I would urge those within the MSM who think of themselves as among the best at informing the public to ask whether the obsession with “narratives” — think of prepackaged storylines, tropes, if you will, with noble heroes often within one political party and nefarious, retrograde, and sinister forces within the other — is doing a good job of keeping the public well-informed with the circumstances our troops face in Afghanistan.

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

3: If Obama is reelected you can say good-bye to your benefit, from food stamps to Pell Grants, because his taxing policies will cause all the funding, set aside for you, to eventually dry up because he will give your money to the Muslims enabling them to attack Israel and kill Americans as just happened in the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. He has already given 1.5 billion dollars of your money to the Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt. Your money has armed the enemies of America so that they can kill even more Americans not only overseas but right here in your own home town. Main Street, America.

4: When Romney and Ryan are elected they will get that money back and use it to bolster Social Security and Medicare. Romney and Ryan will stop giving away hard earned American money, that Obama takes from you in taxes and gives to overseas militant Arabs, and will keep those dollars in America to produce jobs and allow you to keep more of that money in your pocket, and not allow the government to even get their greedy, wasteful hands on it.

5: Please! Pay attention!! Wake-up!!! Stop being tricked and deceived by the MSM and their support of Obama’s Democratic Prestidigitation. Although you might find it entertaining, without a doubt, it is covertly financially fatal for you. Vote for Romney/Ryan.

Democratic Prestidigitation – A Tool of the MSM!
1: All the negative stories about Romney/Ryan are used to keep your eye off Obama and what he is really doing. In the realm of Magicians this is called prestidigitation. Slight of hand, if you will. These kinds of news stories from Democrats are strategically used to deflect the light of truth off Obama. After all, if the Main Stream Media copy space and radio/TV air time are used to argue over a story about Romney, then Obama, under the cover of this darkness, will be free from scrutiny, continuing to deceive the gullible, lie to us all, cheat the system and just outright steal money from the poor and middle class in America.

2: If you are anyone in America that is receiving any kind of financial benefit from any government entity, thank the GOP. The GOP is the real reason you get the benefits you do get, not the Democrats. All the Democrats have done is when they happen to be in office they tell you that because of them you are getting this benefit. They are lying liars. They are lying to you to get you to vote for them.

I think the public at large is tired of the bias. (R) says something stupid, it’s all they talk about. (D) says something stupid, it’s ‘a misquote’ and they move on.
People are starting to pay attention to this.
