President Obama is bringing back some characters from the past to help with his debate practice, according to The Hill. For now he’s prepping at the Democratic National Committee in Washington, D.C:
The most recent session took place last Friday, and included other advisers who helped guide Obama through his 2008 debates: White House senior adviser David Plouffe and White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer. Dunn, Obama’s former communications adviser, is helping the campaign down the stretch and the debates have become “part of her portfolio,” a source says. …
“I think Obama comes into this with a lot less pressure than Romney,” said one former White House aide. “Romney is approaching the point where the only play he can make is a Hail Mary. He has to do something really remarkable in the debate to make up for the fact that he has been unremarkable since the convention.”
Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) is posing as Mitt Romney for Obama’s practice.

Sep. 22, 2012 at 12:52pmThere is one thing that I believe will cinch this debate for Romney. A little know solution found in ( of all places) the Bible. It goes like this: (paraphrasing) ” when you go before the court do not worry what to say. When that time comes I (God) will tell you what to say.”
In a way Romney will be coming before a sorta court. The court of public opinion. He needs to prepare from the inside and it will show up on the outside. It is a fact that Romney is a Godly man and he does pray to God. The question is who does ‘O’ pray to. If my understanding is right, ‘O’ doesn’t have anyone but himself to pray to. That is a losing prayer.

Sep. 21, 2012 at 8:34amYup. Old O has to practice his debates since nothing he says really seems to come from his heart–but his danged teleprompter! He also doesn’t seem to know the “right answers” to say, so he has to be spoon-fed and guided. That’s the real translation of this piece.
And I know this is typical “politician junk” and that Romney will likely rehearse what he wants to say and be advised/coached, too–but the difference is I think Romney knows more of what he’s talking about and about the real world than Obama does. That’s the hurdle O needs to overcome. He can no longer ride on the coattails of being “cool” and “different.” Now he HAS to have at least SOME substance or he’ll be toast–and likely he and his campaign know that.
They must be sweatin’ bullets these days (oh can I say that???) because it will be the first time O will be forced to run on something other than being “new,” “cool,” and “different.” Gig’s up, even for Old O.

Sep. 21, 2012 at 8:13amtopperj: I think you are right-without his telepromters, 0bama is a dope. The debate is rigged, but Romney has real-world experience that hopefully can trump the bs.

Sep. 20, 2012 at 10:50pmCompelling reasoning: Obama has to beg for votes as he really needs to remain in the White House. He’s never had a real job so therefore, he needs those votes. On the other hand Romney is the go to guy, he is the one sought by others to complete the task, to finish the job, to fix the problems. He’s not on a HUNGER campaign like Obama is, and will not run his campaign in a desperate way because he doesn’t need to beg for votes.

Sep. 20, 2012 at 10:47pmNow that Obama has disgraced the American flag with his own logo, which we all knew was going to happen eventually, how many believe as I do that if he is re-elected, he will continue to stomp on the Constitution and other important edicts by abolishing term limits so that he can remain in office for years and years to come YIKES

Sep. 22, 2012 at 12:33pmYou are so right! My thoughts on the ‘flag’ thingy is that it is another sorta apology to the mad dogs that are burning the American flag as we speak. He, I believe, is trying to separate himself from that ‘burning’ flag, by saying, ” see that one is not my flag, this one is.”
Sound far fetched? He is not happy with being ‘o’, he wants to be the big ‘O’. In my book he is a zer0,

Sep. 20, 2012 at 8:58pmRomney is coming from a place that most people would never even try to tackle. Not only is Romney debating a president who lies and his democrat press buddies as moderators, he is also going to have to school an astonishing number of Americans who have shown themselves to be too self absorbed to educate themselves in the slightest, on what is happening to the freedoms we once shared, under this president.

Sep. 20, 2012 at 11:05pmTwo great points. I’d like to add another. I believe he will have the questions in advance. The entire “debate” is a joke. The moderators are all in his hip pocket and obviously voted for Obama the last time. But the challenge is debating a pathological liar. How the heck do you do that and keep your sanity? Romney needs to make Obama lose his cool and show that anger that we’ve seen in hidden videos when he talks with his buds and rails against Republicans. It wouldn’t hurt to have a “there you go, again” moment.
