Moderators talk upcoming debates: We don’t see ‘what’s going over television’

The Wall Street Journal has a short video featuring each of the upcoming presidential debate moderators discussing how crucial the debates and television have become in elections.

“People generally base their vote for president, when it comes right down to it, on the person that they feel most comfortable with in times of a crisis,” CBS’s Bob Schieffer says. “And that’s why I think the way the candidates come off even more than sometimes what they say is the most important thing.” Schieffer is moderating the third and final debate on Oct. 22.

“Sometimes as the moderator, you’re seeing them in person and you’re not seeing what’s going over television…”

    In all fairness, I would love to see Rush, Sean or Glenn as moderator. Better yet Dave Barton. Now that would be a sight to see!
