Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore has a blog post for the Huffington Post in which he says Bain Capital “from the start, had support from the government.”
Bain Capital is the private equity firm Mitt Romney helped found.
Moore writes that he was “a little surprised” to find out about a contract Bain had with the government in the ’80s. The deal involved a small airline owned by Bain transporting military personnel to and from work in the Las Vegas desert.
“So from the start, Bain Capital had support from the government,” Moore says. “We all built that. Just don’t ever mention that in public, or come around asking Mitt and his billionaire friends to kick in a little more so your aunt can pay for her breast cancer treatment or your 5-year-old can have a good kindergarten teacher. That would make them very angry, and you wouldn’t like them when they’re angry.”
In case you didn’t catch it… Moore is essentially saying that Romney’s company was made possible by the government. But who was helping who here? Did Bain need the government or was it providing a service to the government?

As is always the case with consensual commerce, both parties felt they reaped the greater benefit.
The government felt the service rendered by Bain was more valuable than the revenue allocated.
Bain felt the revenue allocated by the government was more valuable than the service rendered.
Otherwise, the transaction would have never occurred.
This precept is universal whether we are talking about Joe average and his purchase of an iPad, or a millionaire and his purchase of a tropical island.

Oct. 2, 2012 at 1:49pmYeah, Mikey Moore, the pro union, liberal loser who only makes his movies with NON-UNION labor so as to save or keep a few more million dollars.
Hey Mike, I don’t know about you but aside from being hypocritical it also smells like capitalist precepts.
