Watch tonight’s debate as you never have before through live GIF
While many will be tuning into the presidential debates tonight via television or live stream, a different medium will be showcasing the presidential candidates actions in a way you might not have expected to see them before.
The site Tumblr will be live “GIFfing” the debate. A GIF is essentially an image that appears as a short animation (see below).

The Tumblr staff writes they’ll have a team of GIF artists “cranking out instant animations of the best debate moments, from zingers to gaffes to awkward silences.”
Everything will take place on “Gifwich,” a live GIFfing blog, but Tumblr issues the warning that they could be updating with animations every minute. So, if you want a more controlled GIF viewing experience of the debate, Tumblr suggests watching its own official election blog for some curated selections.
GIF coverage will begin at 9 p.m. EST along with the debates.
