We need jobs > Rich people have jobs > We should tax rich people
Come again? Why? What they’re actually saying is this:
You (the voter) have no job or money > Rich people have jobs and money > We should punish people that have money so you feel better about being poor and jobless.
It all starts to fall apart when you ask the questions this ad does. Will the government having more money help ME get a job? Um, unless you want to be an IRS agent, no. It can offer the equivalent of little trinkets and made-in-China toys, but nothing to improve your life the way a full time job income would.
And it really starts to get scary when you hypothesize what would happen if YOU (the poor jobless voter) does get a job and gets rich. Maybe, um, maybe…they don’t WANT you to get rich?
