God help us: Obama proposes creating federal ‘Secretary of Business’
…The acronym of which would appropriately be SOB:
President Obama says he would like to establish a “secretary of Business” if he wins a second term.
In an interview with MSNBC, the president said he wants to consolidate a number of business and trade-related agencies, creating a “one-stop shop” for oversight.
“I’ve said that I want to consolidate a whole bunch of government agencies. We should have one secretary of Business, instead of nine different departments that are dealing with things like giving loans to SBA [the Small Business Administration] or helping companies with exports,” he said in an interview with MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough.
Obama’s statements amount to a late-campaign effort to burnish his business credentials against Republican Mitt Romney, who has highlighted his success as a private equity executive throughout the presidential race.
Yep, that sounds about right — Obama’s plan to bolster American businesses is to… expand government. Â
As you can imagine, the Romney camp jumped all over this insanity:
“We don’t need a ‘secretary of business.’ We need a new president who actually understands business and won’t punish it with the job-killing regulations that have been imposed by the Obama administration,” said Ryan Williams, a campaign spokesman. “Mitt Romney spent his career in the private sector as a successful businessman, and as president he will promote pro-growth policies that will create jobs, help small business and strengthen the middle class.”

Posted on October 31, 2012 at 8:01amI think it is interesting to see how BO has scrambled to do all kinds of things to “improve” his “leadership” since that first debate. He has seen real leadership in Mitt Romney and is scrambling to emulate that. Why settle for the copycat?

Posted on October 30, 2012 at 9:05amThis morning the Today show was discussing how Hurricane Sandy will help the economy. I guess the next thing we will hear is that Obama ordered the storm to help America.

Posted on October 30, 2012 at 7:52amSince the President meets daily with so few people or sometimes just one person (Valerie Jarrett) no one has told him he has a Secretary of Commerce who is charged with doing what this ‘new’ agency would supposedly do. If this A$@ had a cabinet meeting once in a while he would know this. What amazes me is Joe pretends to be a Republican and yet he did not inform the President of this fact! Scars burrow will bury his head in the sand as long as they continue to toss him bags of money!

Posted on October 30, 2012 at 9:05amLike many other “new” ideas of the current incompetent and unoriginal Obama administration, they are trying to ape a similar and demagogic move by….the french socialist government. French are having terrible problems with their economy and to fix the problem they have created a new job, appointing to it a guy who has never worked in the private sector. They are not even original.

Posted on October 29, 2012 at 11:34pmIt would seem BO has never had a real job, but has always worked in public sector positions, if he has really had any job before. Yeah, he supposedly taught a couple of classes, and he is reported to have argued a few legal cases as community organizer, but has he really worked ever? Have we ever seen him as President really put in a full time effort?
Has BO ever really done anything in his life? How many times in Illinois government did he just vote present, or in the US Senate do the same thing. He might show up, but doesn’t really do anything at all. He’s good at passing the buck and finding blame with everyone else. The few things that others have tried to attribute as positives are so offset by negatives or inactions, he comes across as less than doing nothing as to hurting and destroying anything and everything that has been working in the favor of the United States of America.

Posted on October 29, 2012 at 9:56pmSo what will be the Sec of Commerce’s job? How about the Sec. of Labor? Can you say “duplication” boys and girls? Instead of expanding an already bloated government, we need to at least downsize, if not eliminate, any number of gov’t agencies, starting with Dept. of Education & EPA. Eliminate the Dept. of Veterans’ Affairs and return its functions to the Dept. of Defense.
