‘Yes, I watched for Schadenfreude purposes’

Liberal blogger Andrew Sullivan writes in The Daily Beast that he watched Fox News the day after the election just to see if conservatives on the network had exploded. He says the likes of Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter are “completely fanatical even in the face of popular repudiation”:

Yes, I watched for Schadenfreude purposes. These charlatans and money-grubbers have turned the broad tradition of Anglo-American conservatism into Southern Fried Fanaticism – and I wanted to see them crackle in their batter. They have replaced empirical doubt with unerring faith in an ideology that had its moment over thirty years ago and is barely relevant to the world we now live in. That faith has been cynically fused with fundamentalist religion to make it virtually impossible for the GOP to accept that women are the majority of voters in this country, that gay couples are equal to straight ones, that 11 million illegal immigrants simply cannot be expected to “self-deport” en masse by a regime of terrifying policing, that war is a last and not a first resort, that the debt we have is primarily a function of two things: George W. Bush’s presidency and the economic collapse his term ended with.

You’ll recall Sullivan became relevant this election for nearly jumping off a bridge after President Obama bombed in the first debate back in October.

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

Sullivan may watch but he doesn’t listen. Seems most of the youth (under 30) have been turned into advertising zombies, as they can instantly remember messages and catch phrases from advertising but can’t remember content from movies or shows they are watching. Sullivan must fall into this group, so BHO commercials rattle around in the space between his ears, and true dialogue and discussion has no effect. Schadenfreude seems an awfully big word for him to use also…did O’Reilly use it as the word of the day recently?

Add to that the thousands of lay-offs just in 2 days with many more to come, just check Euro news such as the the BBC business section and also check CNN money markets, the slide on all stock markets world wide continues. Do I like what I am seeing? Not at all, Mr Sullivan reality hurts. I hope you are better prepared than the North Eastern USA including FEMA the Red Cross etc. it is a DISASTER! and it is not over yet.

I guess it’s easy for these clowns (Beckel, Coulter, Sullivan and others) to make insulting statements about Southerners from afar. You don’t have to be 10 feet tall and bullet proof when you’re several hundred miles away. HeII, you can be a coward and do it from that distance.

I’ve been watching hurricane Sandy, a nor’easter, and an earthquake hit the northeast, and the stock market take a nose dive since the election – for schadenfreude purposes.

I was going to say the same thing. I think Andrew needs to go back on his meds.

They say ‘Sandy’ put Obama in the White House.
      Do you have a point?

The king proclaimed he would lower the level of the ocean, yet the ocean rises up and destroys part of the kingdom where his loyal followers abide. The irony is delightful.

Hurricane Sandy was a serendipitous opportunity for BHO to use the Cloward-Piven Strategy and find out how ripe this nation is for a takeover. Christie caved to a top-down solution, and even Romney caved when he stepped back to endorse the quazi-government Red Cross instead of fully carrying out a private sector solution to the relief effort. This countries demographics have changed, and so many of the people there are looking to FEMA and BHO to be the saviors of their demise. BHO comes in for an hour, says he will cut the red tape of government to help. Christie gushes and fawns over BHO. Bloomberg endorses BHO, and that changes the nations perception of BHO and pushes him over the finish line in the election first. Uneducated zombies like Sullivan and others watch all this, and then watches Fox to see how the Conservatives react to the blows issued by his hero BHO with glee as to their discomfort with his re-election. If Glenn and others do believe in private sector solutions, then now is the time to show how much better that will work over the big government solution spearheaded by FEMA and the Red Cross!
