Was she nervous? She shouldn’t be — she just got done running a campaign for the U.S. Senate that brought her national attention.
Whatever was on her mind, Massachusetts Senator-elect Elizabeth Warren was something of a deer in the headlights Thursday when she joined Gov. Deval Patrick for a press conference at the State House:
A jittery U.S. senator-elect Elizabeth Warren gave one-sentence answers, ducked questions and even passed one on to Gov. Deval Patrick in an awkward first press conference since the election.
Warren spoke for a total of less than four minutes during the 11-minute press conference — the rest was taken up by Patrick and reporters’ questions.
After being asked her first question — how she’d protect defense spending — Warren was silent as she turned to Patrick.
“Defense spending is you,” Patrick prodded Warren.
“Oh, that’s mine,” Warren replied. ]…]
When she did respond, the answers were often brief.
How does she feel about the high female voter turnout and the election of women in New Hampshire?
“I’m glad,” she said.
Is it surprising?
“I’m glad that the women turned out to vote, it meant a lot,” said Warren.
Asked what impact more women in the Senate would have, Warren punted.
“You want to try answering that?” she said, turning to Patrick, who stepped in again.

Nov. 11, 2012 at 6:33pmPerhaps its that Warren knows the election was stolen. As she stands there under the hot lights, she feels a giant pang of guilt.

Nov. 10, 2012 at 2:58pmMassachusetts is the most pathetic state in this nation……bar none. Every single denizen there has this latent “we started this country with the boston tea party” mentality…..and yet every single politician having anything whatsoever to do with this state is nothing a complete loser….including Mit Romney.
Now men can marry men there….and i am real sure in my heart of hearts that that is just exactly what the original Boston Tea Party was about……stool pushing in it’s purest form. You people living in that state…….are among the most confused deluded “which way did he go” electorate in the United States. Even Mississippi with it’s abysmal SAT scores….even that state carries a much greater level of understanding in the scheme of life.
Happy stool pushing all you Massachusetts Mennonites…..of course no offense to the real Mennonites……

Nov. 10, 2012 at 10:45pmAs a Bay Stater, I can tell you that not everyone voted for Warren. There are those of us who still believe in character and integrity – just not enough of us, it appears.
As for Mitt Romney, he was an excellent governor and I believe he would have been an excellent president. There are countless reasons why he didn’t win and I really don’t want to get into them. I am not happy with a lot of the election results from around the country (especially here in MA), but I am not going to demonize an entire state’s population.
It is true same sex marriage is allowed in MA. However, until I am so pure of thought and clean of sin that the good Lord puts me in charge of judging others and what they do in their lives, I will refrain from doing so.

I was born & raised in Massachusetts. I actually enjoyed being a political “outsider” — and I was not alone on the outside. The place is really messed up in a lot of ways — for sure. Sadly, though, your crass generalizations would earn you the nickname “chowdahead” back in the Bay State.

Nov. 11, 2012 at 3:21pmNew England Clam Chowder is also an overrated food stuff. I stand by my post….Kerry…Kennedy…..the “Big Dig”….and yet all the while Massachusetts keeps trying to play this “Gordon’s Fisherman” role that is a million miles away from the reality of Massachusetts politics and life. Yes I know there are fine people in Massachusetts…but not many…..and too few for them to have any literal affect or effect on the country’s perception of the state itself. From Kennedy’s drunken Soirees in Chappaquiddick….to Kerry’s relocating of his sailboat to a dock so he could avoid the taxes he wants the rest of you saps to pay……the state has degraded from one of the original colonies that triggered this nation…into a place that is now hell bent on being a big part of destroying it. Elizabeth Warren? Are you people serious? I will take and gladly accept the ad hominum “Chowda Head” reference……you guys know more about that than any other state…..you keep re-electing Knuckle heads election cycle after election cycle. Little nasty strips of clam meat are no where near as disgusting as the knuckles from a bovines front hoof joint. John Kerry is perhaps the biggest blowhard in the senate…..and now you have a senatorial blow hard and a senatorial blow easy….Elizabeth Warren….the Massachusetts version of a Dream Catcher…just ask her…she’ll tell you that she is part Indian…..a member of the Slap-A-Hoe tribe..

Nov. 12, 2012 at 3:27pmyou know chuck we are on the same side on this and please dont let my geographic references get to you…i live in PA…..the state of Arlen Turncoat Specter….US Senator Bob “I did nothing for 6 years ” Casey and any other myriad of political hyenas…..this state of mine is so confused politically that it seems at times that coal miners forget which way the mine is located……and yet somewhere down in the mines….while they extract that which the progressives hate….COAL…their union officers have speakers blaring constantly…….”Repeat after me…Obama hates Coal but he loves you….”
PA is a very close second to your beloved state….in terms of identity crisis….so that you know that….what i said earlier is framed i perhaps a more contextual sense…..my state is in second place for stupidity…it can’t even win that category.
