Obama dodges fiscal cliff debate with a foreign trip

There are just 52 days left for Congress and the White House to hammer out a deal and avoid running the country off the proverbial “fiscal cliff.” What better time for President Obama to take a trip to Asia?

The negotiations will be difficult. Obama signaled he’s sticking to his demand for raising taxes on the wealthy. That’s long been a nonstarter with Republicans.

He will issue a statement today “about the action we need to take to keep our economy growing and reduce our deficit,” the White House said last night.

His chief political strategist, David Axelrod, said re-election gives Obama the upper hand.

“If the attitude is that nothing happened on Tuesday, that would be unfortunate,” Axelrod told MSNBC.

I know Axelrod is talking about Republicans here, but I wonder how he’d describe the president’s attitude? Obama is acting as if he made no promises during the election, going so far as to say he’d wash John Boehner’s car if it would help negotiations. Now he’s making a “statement” and skipping town?

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) yesterday took all tax-rate increases off the table, though he said Republicans would accept other revenue measures, such as closing loopholes and eliminating deductions.

“Raising taxes on small businesses will kill jobs in America. It is as simple as that,” he told USA Today.

What would anyone expect this CLOTUS ( Communist Leader of the US ) to do ? He’s just been granted another four year Vacation at Taxpayer expense. Got to be in the Middle East as much as possible to gather his Muslim DiaperHeads for the great Civilization Jihad.

I really want to comment on the Stansberry report that shows just what may very well happen when 2016 arrives —- and that is that Obama will most likey be RE-ELECTED! Oh and I’d also like to let the readers know that Valerie Jarrett has ties to Iran – especially since she was BORN there! By American parents but STILL! I also feel that the election was absolutely staged…

I have so many comments – the problem is that I’m a total computer dummy. I don’t have facebook or anything else except google and have no “human being” to show me at home how to get a comment or question to Glenn. I love him dearly, but I’m a 66 year old dummy on computers. I’m burning up inside because I keep screaming at the t.v. when I feel I have simple answers to all these problems. I just don’t know how to contact Glenn. I try calling the radio station only to get 3 hours of busy signals and I’m ready to give up. I’m semi-infirmed and unless you have lots of money, no one comes to my house to show me physically how to get from one site to another to ask small questions or make small comments. Everyone keeps talking only to each other and people who tune in religiously need to have a voice of some kind. Please email me at kathyjb123@gmail.com to instruct me how to get my questions answered. As for Obama’s disappearing acts when problems arise – he’s done that from Day One. He doesn’t like any form of confrontation – period. My question on that is WHO gets to sit him down and ANSWER anything from the people – people he doesn’t like – if, in fact, we are his bosses? If not, this is not a government of, by and for the PEOPLE. Thank you.

  nobody really teaches us anything on the computer – you have to figure it all out by yourself by just playing around with it – from going to site to site. You’ll get it I promise but you have to be willing to learn. We all just have to figure it out. I’m with you on the president. He disappears anytime he has to be held accountable.. just like the first debate.. my goodness the president was drugged up! He was even absent for that. He had nothing to fear regarding his reelection – he already knew he had it in the bag. Can you say CORRUPTION?!
