Video: An animated look at the free market
It might sound like a boring topic, but have you ever stopped to think about how all the pieces and players in a free market come together to construct something so simple? The process involves much more detail than you could imagine.
To that end, the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) has put together a new video series called “I, Pencil” which walks viewers through the entire process, from start to finish. The end result is an intriguing look at how a free marketplace works cooperatively to advance society forward — amazingly, without government orders to do so.

Posted on November 17, 2012 at 7:57pmThis video pretty much makes the same argument of “you didn’t build that”.
The original pencil was discovered by many individuals around the world all by themselves. Greater scribes tools were also invented BY INDIVIDUALS.
The Market itself contributes to the furthered creation & distribution of The Pencil but people have merely taken someone else’s idea and say that they “created that” when really they are just reproducing something they saw someone else do.
Many of you Capitalists are so foolish to think that our system is perfect before God if people stay honest.
You are wrong. Opportunity for individuals to not be part of any system, and develop in their own universe, becoming their own Masters, instead of being molded by the system, born only to die in a prison where those that preceded them in history, knowledge & power rule over them as gods instead of mere stewards that simply try keep the worst away or simply leave people be…to be individuals…learning the hard way because they believe they can…instead of the easier way…learning from other people’s mistakes and thinking less of them
All of us, on some level in ways that vary, are followers, not leaders.
God is the greatest leader of all. For he is the first. If he is not the first, then I know not who to give glory to. If he is not a real person, then how can I love him?
I will not worship a ethereal fart in the wind, a profound idea, or an infinite hierarchy of anything.

Posted on November 17, 2012 at 8:01pmI do not wish to be part of any Collective.
God created the Individual & the Family.
All else is an abomination unto God, for people think themselves other than individuals first, but rather as part of another body, such as Race or Bloodline, exalting themselves above others who are the same wretched mortals as they are.
If you disagree with me…then acknowledge that this video is an incomplete telling aimed at something less than the full truth.
I confess the same transgression.

Posted on November 17, 2012 at 11:49amI could definitely see this video being shown in an economics class at the college level, or even at the 6th grade level, in support of free enterprise and a free market.
I was waiting for the negative commentary about government, socialistic practices and totalitarian regimes and how they get in the way of creativity and ideas. . . but it never came, which I think is good! I’m glad that this video is just all positive about the free market and not negative about anything. I think it makes this a great teaching tool for children and adults.
Our schools and universities need to stop pushing social justice agendas and start pushing the need for innovators and entrepreneurs.

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 11:34pmListened to Glen tonight, 11/15/12 on the ride home, 35 miles oneway. We all need to back the constitution 100% now more than ever. “WE NEED TO STOP FEEDING THE BEAST!” I made this comment back in 1998 in califronia and I still believe it today. Bob O. Out!
