Just for fun and because it’s Friday, here’s a nice musical PSA from Melbourne, Australia’s Metro Trains. This cute little animated video about “Dumb Ways to Die” was created to help stop train-related deaths:
For the majority of us, this advice is totally unnecessary. Most people are able to recognise for themselves that trains are big, fast and not to be messed with. But sadly a few people just don’t get it. And that’s why we’re running this campaign. To stop them from that brain fade, from doing something dumb and being hit by a train.
The new safety song has become so popular, it’s now available on iTunes.
WATCH:
Have a lovely weekend, and always remember to look both ways before you cross the street.

Nov. 21, 2012 at 9:38amI’d love to see DART adopt this campaign, though admittedly it may be too edgy for their tastes.

Ouch, EastTX, Didn’t make the connection til you mentioned it. That’s a definite tragedy. What’s worse, though, is that there is a train/car or train/person accident about every two hours. http://www.mcaleerlaw.com/CM/TrainMARTAAccidents/Train-Accident-Statistics.asp

Nov. 21, 2012 at 10:02amPeople are involved in a tragic accident involving a train, so you want to get rid of a message about train safety? Sorry, but your request doesn’t make sense. I live in east Texas.

Nov. 21, 2012 at 10:12amGod Bless all the people of Midland, but for heaven’s sake it’s a Public Service Announcement. Please don’t remove it. Maybe this will avoid other tragedies in the future.

Nov. 21, 2012 at 11:12amI would think that this would be a MUST DOWNLOAD for you. Then show it to everyone that you know in the hopes people might think before crossing tracks, or roads.
